Travelling thru town I needed to find prepared foods in a pinch. Adorable gem of a small town market, the prepared foods were varied and well prepared. Not in my immediate neighborhood, but I very much anticipate that my travels will bring me here again, and again, and again.

$4.00 for a persimmon and $5.00 for a pomegranate! What in the world is going on here!! Supposed to be fresh baked bread is stale and baguettes are stiff and heavy. Very hard to get simple, traditional baguettes in this country. They are supposed to be light and airy inside but crusty on the outside. Not hard to make either but man, sooo hard to find around here.

While I find the grocery store a bit expensive, I think this store has interesting curated items that I can’t find anywhere. For instance, pink lemons and exotic fruit, anchovies in hot sauce (can’t find anywhere), fresh pasta of all varieties, large section of pre-made food and an on sight sushi making stand. Not to mention the largest shelf to make decorated cakes with sprinkles. The parking lot is a bit difficult to manage but overall a nice small store one can get to know quite easily.

Always fresh, always clean. It is definitely an experience to walk through the doors and meet a friendly and professional staff, that smell of fresh cookies and baked bread and all the organic products from foreign countries, also adding the history of service to the people of New Canaan is amazing.

If you are looking for inexpensive groceries this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a wonderful staff, unique items, great organic coffee, yummy chicken salad, this is your place. The only complaint I have is that the parking lot is hard to navigate and you have to be careful.
