This is a very beautiful, old restaurant/bar. I absolutely loved the decor and the building. It is amazing.

The appetizers we ordered were good, with the soft pretzel being amazing to the mushroom dish being ok. The crab bisque was absolutely unedible. There was filling, other than crab and someone put way too much pepper in it. Two of us ordered the soup and it was terrible. I would recommend visiting here. Management needs to hire more staff and pay attention to food quality.

Food was fantastic! Got the fish platter best fish I've had lately fry's were fresh cut and excellent. Wings were excellent they have a nice selection of sauces. Soup french onion was excellent. Portion sizes are very generous. Only thing they were out of was my brand of beer but hey 4 out of 5 isn't bad. Had a very nice meal & atmosphere is very nice this 1800's building still holds a lot of it's historic significance and is nicely kept. Worth the trip! Sorry I already had started to eat my meal when I took pictures guess I was hungry. Better make reservations if you are coming here.

I need to take a break from this place. It's been one of my preferred dining spots but my last visit has me not wanting to return for a while. We had out of town guests and I was eager to take them to the US Hotel Tavern. I made a reservation for 4 in case it was busy, and when we arrived there were multiple empty tables - which is fine, but we were directed to be seated at a table that still had food crumbs from the last diners and had obviously not been wiped down. I had to ask for the table to be cleaned before we sat (this is the second visit in a row that we've been seated at a dirty table). We ordered our food - pub fare - after brief consideration and waited about 45 minutes for our food to be brought out - far too long for simple pub fare. One plate was a sandwich and the accompanying fries were room temperature - they actually felt cold. We immediately asked for fresh fries and those were brought out in less than 5 minutes - but why bring out old, cold fries if it takes such a short time to make fresh ones? I ordered a chicken quesadilla and ate most of it. I was preoccupied with visiting and conversing but kept wondering why in the world is this food so dry? It wasn't until later, after we left the restaurant, that I sheepishly realized that there was NO CHEESE in my quesadilla - that's why it was so dry, and why I decided not to finish eating it. Before leaving, I had asked the waitstaff if they were shorthanded in the kitchen because the food took so long and was of such poor quality, but was assured that they were staffed normally. I took my guests to the US Hotel Tavern expecting a great experience and ended up feeling embarrassed at having chosen this restaurant.

My first time, our appetizer and my dinner (Valentine's Day specials) was so, so good! I will definitely go back! My only complaint was some of the bar sitters were a little loud and obnoxious but they left before our dinner came out and we were able to eat in peace. Beautiful place and great food.

We got the grilled cheese flatbread, the fish and chips, the veggie lo mein, and the “burgh” salad. The cheese flatbread was good, but to be honest, not anything special. The fish and chips were good. The veggie lo mein was so salty. As in unedible, and I would not recommend unless that is your preference. The salad was so small and sad, size portion of a side salad. The waitress was nice and was willing to replace the noodles.

First time here and it was an excellent experience. The food was great, the service was excellent and very good cocktails. I had the French Martini and my friend had a manhattan. I love the old school vibe with a modern twist.

Sitting in the US hotel for over an hour and still waiting for our food. It's Friday December 20th, only one group before us. Their food is just coming out now. We've been given no updates, no apologies but, we did get a carafe of water!

This review is an update from my previous negative review. I believe my first review was a result of them having a large group of people that were being served that delayed our service quite a bit. They should have anticipated this better. However, upon our last visit the food, service and atmosphere we're back to being very good. It's a shame that a one-off bad performance can ruin ones view.

The food is absolutely delicious. Great portions. We loved the atmosphere. Definitely a historical little gem. My husband got their western BBQ burger. I got their club sandwich and mac and cheese and we got a small margherita pizza to share. Everything was so good and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. Definitely will be going back.
