Best black bean burger I've had in a long time, good beer selection, mostly really good service. One guy is apparently always a little rude according to locals, and we had to deal with his attitude, but our main server was very sweet and attentive.

Gotta be the best burger I’ve had in the city. Thick and juicy and actually cooked to order. Also just a fun bar for the music and some cheap drinks. Don’t sleep on it

I had lunch here with my mom and my aunt. I couldn’t decide what I wanted from the menu, so I went with the special of the day: a sloppy joe. Made me happy. My mom got the black bean burger, and my aunt got the shrimp po boy. All of the food was perfect. Service was attentive. I was glad to include this lunch stop in my short visit back home.

Killer venue to see local and not so local acts. Great sound from all the bands.

An old bar for people a bit rough around the edges. Burgers and sandwiches are excellent right from the kitchen, and among the best drink prices in town. Not a kid-friendly place, in a good way.

This place seems very prejudice. I walked in on a Thursday evening. We were visiting a friend who recommended the burger. I was greeted with evil looks as if I didn’t belong there. I tried to ask the hostess for basic information but she seemed like she didn’t want to talk to me. I left and went to the bar across the street and had a much better experience. I will never come back.

Edit: I took a peek at some of the other reviews and this seems to be a thing at this establishment where they are very unkind to (URBAN) people.

I’ve heard about this place from a close friend of 20 years. The stars aligned, I was in town working, and got to see a band I’ve been lucky enough in the past to see; Dropsonic. Headliner was Shiner. Great space, great bands. People getting the foods, the drinks. Music venue separate. Places of this caliber with such history are rare, but you know real when you find it. It seeps into the rooms. It breathes; its a vibe as the kids would say. It was great to finally see a show here.

We went here for a late brunch or then would that be lunch? Haha around noon. Surprisingly it wasn’t that busy. Sat at the bar and two seats left!
My bf who swears by their consistency tried the brunch menu for the first time. He ordered the French Toast with coffee and said it was crispy on the outside and fluffy in the inside.
I got the biscuits, eggs and sausage with gravy. Oh the gravy was delicious, the biscuits were soft and perfectly fluffy even with the eggs and gravy over it. Sausage also on point.
The coffee was surprisingly good/ average.
It’s a shame it was a Sunday with no tunes as we’ve heard from the sidewalk great bands.
The bartender was polite and not overly friendly which we appreciated, he was busy but still checked in on us.
I’d highly recommend this place as one of the best dive bars which also do a great brunch menu.
