We've been making annual visits to The Cherry Pit the past few years -- can always depend on them to have plump, sweet cherries once cherry season starts! A short stroll further into the orchard is sometimes necessary to find the best trees but it's worth it 🍒

Such a fun family tradition! I personally liked the Coral cherries better, they’re located to the right of the weighing station and are sweeter and much more crisp than the Tiogas (darker, smaller cherries)- you’ll be able to see the difference. Upon arrival, the workers invite you to grab a bucket or use your own bag, and help guide you to the areas with each kind of cherry.

The parking lot is huge, though the entrance and the exit are at opposite ends, so just look out for signs along highway 4.

It’s a very hot and dry area, so I opted to leave my pup at home, though pets are welcome to join the experience!

Currently being sold at $4/lb, we left with a total of 12lbs easily within 15-20 minutes, so be mindful of how much you pick and are willing to spend.

Water and snacks are also for sale near the weigh station. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Happy picking! 🍒

So much fun! We went last Saturday morning. Plenty of parking and dog-friendly on leash. We had to go several rows in to see cherries that were low enough to pick. Plenty for my 3yo to pick too. We spent 1.5 hrs there, took home 11lbs of cherries (1 full bucket). There was also a guy selling ice cream bars, a nice treat to cool off from picking cherries. Highly recommend!

We went here to pick cherries late in the day since this was one of the places that is open until 5:30. All other places wrap up by 3 PM.

We liked the whole setup - no frills. We even bought our own set up ladder to get the cherries from up top that many miss.

We paid $4 a pound. Don't know if these were organic or not, but we got 21 lbs of cherries. If you have cash, you get priority at the checkout. 🙂
