I attended the Christmas lights display at the fairgrounds. A LOT of work went into putting this together and it was well worth the $10.00 per carload to drive through and see the awesome covered bridges, The Grinch, Santa s Workshop, etc., as well as all of the emoji lights and candy canes, mistletoe and characters!! I'd definitely go again and take more photos. Maybe go when it's not quite as busy and I can dilly dally over each display.
Maybe I could even order fried dough this time 😉
If you get the chance, you should definitely go!!

This is our 3rd year going. We have a 4 year old. This was our favorite year by far! First year our son was too young to do as much as we did this year. and last year, the weather was pretty bad for much of it - although we still enjoyed the time we did spend.

This year (2019) the weather couldn't have been more perfect. We skipped the midway preview Thursday night but went Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Food is either fair food from the vendors that (I believe) are part of Fiesta shows or from a few added vendors that come in, such as Firefly's (which was our favorite). Food from firefly's was great! The regular fair vendors food was ok. Pretty much what you'd expect.

Rides are decent - we were there one day with family and they have a four year old as well. We spent $55 on 50 tickets. Kids used the tickets Sat and Sun. It worked well and while I'm sure they would have gone on more rides, it was enough. You can get a wristband for $25 and have unlimited rides on day from 12-5. Good deal if that is a focus, but rides are secondary for us as there's plenty of other places to go on rides.

What we really enjoyed were the shows. We saw the hot dog pig races, Flying high dogs, lumberjack show, clydesdale pulling show, jumping horse show, horses horses horses show, petting zoo, Lucky bob juggling and magic show, The Magic of Lance Gifford show and the demolition derby both Fri and Sat! As well as some of the ongoing shows, just as the birds of prey and reptiles as well as all the various animals.

All the shows we saw were part of the admission. For $30 for my wife and I for all 3 days, I felt that was an excellent value. Hopefully the weather will be as good next year! The only downside of the great weather is that it was crowded at times. Some long waits for food at peak times, but it really didn't take away from the fun. If you haven't been, I'd suggest going in the future!

The fair entry price is a bit pricey.
We had a nice day at the fair
Entered into the baked good exhibit and won a ribbon. Disappointed not near as many entries as when I entered years ago.
Loved the spot where they were making homemade Ice Cream on the spot!!
The Mac n Choose vendor had the BEST MAC N CHEESE!!
(We ended up going to their Westford location on Sunday and checking out their bigger menu and the Mac n Cheese was just as good!!!)
CANNOLI TRUCK HAD AMAZING RASPBERRY CHOCOLATE CHIP CANNOLI!!!
The Motocross Stunt Team was fun to watch...we watched it twice!! 🤩
The shuttling to enter the fair definitely turns many people away. For various reasons not everyone can do that or want to do that and they do not have someone to drop them off at the the entrance.
We got dropped off at Gate 3 and Picked up there. Glad we had the opportunity to do that!!
Wish there were more independent food vendors then carnival ride food vendors.
Over-all great day walking around and enjoyed the nice weather.

The 9th Annual Robin Hood's Faire (that is usually held down in CT) was just held here for 3 weekends. The fairgrounds were nice, but the weather made a couple sections very muddy and slick. Kudos to the ground crew of Robin Hood's Faire that came around and mulched the areas as needed. I would definitely go to another fair here. I recommend checking the website of whoever is putting on the fair for cancellations before leaving home, though.

The organizers had a good system for parking and buses to take you to the fairgrounds (which lessens traffic for the locals).
This fair is a mix of traditional country fair and modern fair. There are some animals (sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, and a few cows), horse-drawn carriages (with a tram of horses pulling one around), and an exhibit tent showcasing flowers vegetables, art, and sewn item.

There is also a fairly large midway with food trucks, carnival games, and rides.

Plus, a few demonstrations and rallies- dogs catching frisbees, chainsaw competition, etc.

Overall, a fun event with a little something for everyone.

We went for the drive thru Christmas lights. Based on a different drive thru event, this is one where we would come back. The was not a section where there were no lights.

We had a close friend in a bicycle race. There were a lot of people racing and it was a fantastic family friendly event.
