Delicious lunch that hit the spot after a day of hiking. We had the chicken tacos and the Cajun shrimp rice bowl. It's a great local spot with outdoor seating. I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

10 out of 10! We ate at the food truck that started the backyard, The one straight back when you walk in. It has a Cajun flare to it and holy moly it was delicious. We had the Cajun chicken gumbo and the burger, both were absolutely Devine! Some of the most flavorful food in southern Oregon, I promise it won’t disappoint.

Great Food Truck Court!! There was plenty of covered seating. We had the Mediterranean food, which was delicious. Next time I'll try the Cajun or one of the other options. It was also a pleasure to meet the owner who was very nice.

āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Hidden Gem in Medford – Amazing Food & Family Atmosphere!

I should’ve taken a picture of my food, but it was too good—I ate it all before I could remember! When the food came out, it was beautifully presented, with obvious care and attention to quality. They even stamp their burgers with a custom mark, which was such a special touch. The food was fresh, delicious, and made with real ingredients—you could tell they use things like organic lettuce and quality produce.

I ordered my son something simple, thinking he might not enjoy the jambalaya since it was had a little spice and he’s only one but when our food arrived, he surprised me by stealing my entire bowl and eating every bite! šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£ I had to find the owner and tell him how funny it was, and he responded with incredible generosity, giving me another plate free of charge. He said, ā€œI’m glad he liked it! Good is good. You’ve got to eat too—I insist.ā€ He’s right good is good and spice wasn’t stopping my baby from gobbling up his jambalaya. Don’t let this talk about spice deter you either, it’s not over spicy and he gives samples too! It came with the okra and everything! šŸ˜‹ we all tried each otherā€˜s food and literally every single thing we ordered was delicious! It was juicy, cooked perfectly, fresh, seasoned perfectly, etc. !!! Yall just gotta go try it lol! I ate my burger in like 2 minutes. It was impressive. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

This family-owned business puts so much heart into everything they do. From the moment you walk in, the space feels welcoming. There’s an adorable patio setup with family games, toys for kids, and a laid-back backyard barbecue vibe—just like the name suggests. The owner and his family are warm, kind, and truly care about their customers. This is the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy a great meal, and let the weight of the world melt away. The good vibes are vibing!!!

Beyond the amazing food, there’s even more to explore: a clothing shop, a barbershop, several food trucks, with lots of choices including fruit smoothie bowls. Everything about this place feels genuine—real people, real food, and top-notch customer service.

We also saw a sign that said comedy night so they appear to have themed nights which would be super fun to check out and they do have a little bar too.

To top it all off, the prices are incredibly reasonable. We fed everyone for around $31. In today’s economy, that’s nearly unheard of, especially considering the quality and variety they offer.

This spot is truly a hidden gem in Medford, and we’ll definitely be back! Grabbed a Tshirt too! They deserve more than 5 stars.

The Backyard Community is an absolute gem! I stopped by on a dark, rainy night and was immediately welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The hamburger I ordered was nothing short of amazing—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It came with a side of sliced carrots topped with parmesan and seasonings, which was a delightful and unexpected touch. The burger came with a side of chili with rice, and every bite was a gourmet experience—the flavors blended beautifully, making it a standout meal in such a surprising location. Good food, great conversation!

Terry has truly created something special here. I can’t wait to come back and try their breakfast offerings. Don’t miss out on this hidden treasure—it’s worth every bite!

The cajin gumbo truck was ok. Got their tacos and they were different, and cooked well but something was missing. Gentleman that worked there was nice but seemed annoyed that we had not been there before, and had questions.
