Hidden Gem! !! CASH ONLY !!
Great family and solitaire fun!!
Poles and bait included!
(Summer 2021 current rate is $6 per pound which includes your pole, bait, and license. Fish cleaning is extra, you tip the workers for cleaning them. And as always, they ask you to keep what you catch because you can't 'throw them back', the fish don't survive being hooked. Bummer I know, but if we want to be able to go to places like this, we gotta help support them, or they won't be around for us to enjoy)
All that outta the way...
This is a splendid hidden trout farm, with beautiful mountain views. An entire hatchery to drive past as a mini field trip is a bonus! You can even picnic out there. They have one large cement lined pond to fish from, and yesterday someone caught a 4.6 pounder! Normally tho, the trout are around a pound. So you can fish for awhile and enjoy your time out there. They have a few places to sit, but you might wanna bring your own chair for your own comfort. (One shade tree so far)
Bathroom facility is a porta-potty, so that's more of a need thing, but it's as clean as one of those can be. They do sell local honey from the farm. You can drive right past the hives as part of that mini field trip around the hatchery tanks. Actually this is a really good place for a field trip. Lotta open space for kids to play and picnic and fish
Keep in mind, the trout fishing closes during the heat of the summer (Aug) and reopens in Sept. They also have a few ducks and currently some geese. Occasionally, Goose the dog, makes his rounds checking on things 🙂

Very nice trout farm! Well kept. Nice staff who were friendly, courteous and helpful. You can bring your own gear or use theirs. They gut, clean and ice your fish. And, my husband said it's the best tasting trout he has ever had. Simply beautiful setting with surrounding mountains. Very appropriate for all ages! We plan to go back soon with our oldest son. Well worth the drive. Not too far from Bryson City or Franklin.
