I’m so disappointed and frustrated with this brand. I’ve been going to SG for 12 years, and this location for 4. It used to be so great - delicious, healthy food for a reasonable price. Now it feels like it’s just a challenge to see how small of a
portion they can get away with charging you $20 for before you get upset. Every order is worse than the last. I keep going back hoping something changes, and I’m always disappointed.

I don’t know what happened - it’s honestly such a shame.

As always, delicious, fresh, natural food! Many vegan and vegetarian options. The architecture of this Sweetgreen is one of the cutest I have ever been and I love the quiet surroundings. There is public free parking in front of the restaurant and a juice store just around the corner (need to try it out, but it seems like the perfect lunch combination). Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. But, as other people mentioned, did not understand the employees attitude. They are not rude, but very apathetic for a Sweetgreen where one usually finds a lot of friendly faces. But this is just a minor downside, especially when the interaction with employees is just for 1 minute as you build your bowl. I will definitely come back!

Ok, so. I’ve been either going to this Palo Alto location or Sunnyvale. Yesterday was our first time coming back to Palo Alto since a few months. Maybe I came here once in June, but yeah. This place is usually pretty clean, but yesterday there was one guy working the counter and maybe 10 employees behind him prepping or working on online orders. Took us a while to get service, everyone working in the back section would just stare instead saying, ā€œhello.ā€ Awkward. Someone walked over and came to help us and he was just throwing everything in the bowl so sloppy, didn’t really put time into it. Nor did he really ask us if we wanted to add anything else. I ordered the guacamole greens and they didn’t even have the chicken it came with so I had to settle for blackened chicken. Which was about to run out so I got all the wet chicken at the bottom which made my salad mor soup based. I said medium on my dressing and he went super heavy. So my salad was so drenched that it was like soup at the bottom. Our hot honey chicken plate was also like just thrown all together. Not measured correctly. Such a disappointment. Then the ice and water machine was broken and the ice would only come out tablespoons at a time. So I went and told one of the girls prepping the almonds and I kindly told her that the ice was barely coming coming out. She responded ā€œoh, I guess it’s broken then.ā€ Didn’t offer to check what’s wrong, offer to help. Probably the worst service at this location. It wasn’t like this before. I will stick to Sunnyvale .

It looks like most of the other reviews touch upon this as well but the portion size here is crazy small in comparison to other locations across the Bay Area.

I also had a weird interaction with the cashiers when I went to pick up my order, I had just come from a workout so i was in athletic wear but I wasn't sweaty and was modestly covered up but one of the cashiers very blatantly pointed at me, exchanged some words with the other cashier then they both laughed. Maybe I'm reading too much into it and they were just admiring the gains but it's a weird and off-putting way to greet a customer. I noticed there were other reviews about treatment from employees at location so I thought I'd mention my experience as well.

Had to come back to edit my review.
I frequently order from here and
I love their salads but as of recent I’ve had some concerns. They changed their hexagon bowls to smaller bowls with half of what you normally would have gotten. I reached out to customer service and they told me there’s a shortage of their bowls and gave me credit for my next salad. I waited a while to order again because I was afraid they’ll serve my salad in the same circular bowl. Today I finally ordered a salad and it came in a brown rectangular take out box.
I came back to the reviews to see if people were just as annoyed as I am but I found something very helpful instead;
I wasn’t the only one who thought the employees were rude. I thought I was trippin every time I went in there but they really are rude. They look annoyed making your salads. People in the back look at you like they hate you. They’ll have pick up orders on the counter but not in the pick up area and they’ll ignore you. There’s delivery drivers that wait and wait for any employee to help them take their order but they ignore them. There’s employees that could have helped under 2min to help those delivery drivers for their orders. I’ve witnessed this more than 3 times. No smiles. Just employees who look like they hate serving you. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one. After much consideration, I honestly won’t be ordering from here again based on what I’ve known and seen. It was a good run but it’s time to take my business elsewhere. They’ll be fine though I’m just one customerāœŒšŸ»

I am writing to formally report a highly disappointing experience at the Sweetgreen Palo Alto location on Sunday, January 26. The service I received from an employee named Sophia was unacceptable and left me feeling extremely uncomfortable.

I placed a mobile order for a modified Chicken Pesto Parm bowl, substituting chicken with tofu and removing parmesan cheese. Upon arriving at the store, my order was not ready, even though it was 10 minutes past the promised pickup time. The restaurant was not busy—there were no other customers present when I arrived—so it was unclear why my order was delayed. When I finally received the bowl, it was completely incorrect, containing chicken, white rice, and the wrong dressing.

When I politely addressed the issue, Sophia abruptly snatched the bowl from my hands before I could explain the mistake and remade it without acknowledging my concerns. Her attitude was dismissive, and she repeatedly questioned me in a condescending manner.

As I began eating my remade bowl, I overheard Sophia loudly speaking rudely about me to her coworkers, calling me ā€œannoyingā€ and discussing the situation as if I wasn’t there. I believe she assumed I had left, but I was sitting in the restaurant, trying to enjoy my meal. Hearing her speak about me so disrespectfully made me completely lose my appetite. I felt humiliated and left without finishing my meal.

After hearing her speak negatively about me, I went up to ask for her name. She responded, ā€œSophia, and my manager is right here if you want to talk to her.ā€ I had never asked for a manager—I only wanted her name. Later, as I was gathering my belongings to leave, a male employee approached me to apologize for her behavior and asked how he could better understand the situation. During our conversation, he mentioned that the actual manager was not present and was on the way. This directly contradicted what Sophia had told me, making it seem as though she had lied about a manager being present.

This experience was a complete waste of my time, gas, money, and energy. I drove a significant distance to Sweetgreen to enjoy a meal I was craving, only to be met with poor service, disrespect, a delayed and incorrect order, and a loss of appetite. I left without being able to enjoy my meal, and the entire experience was frustrating and disheartening.

I would appreciate a formal response addressing this matter and steps Sweetgreen will take to ensure better customer service standards moving forward.

There's something wrong with this store. Usually love SW but am always disappointed by the Palo Alto version. Got the crispy chicken which came out totally different and substantially worse than all other locations I've got it - the ratios of ingredients are all off and the salad isn't that fresh. Not coming back here...

Do NOT eat at this location! Terrible service with portions far below the average order size. As a near daily client of the locations in San Francisco and Mountain View, was utterly shocked to see how poor the service, food and wait times were here.

After having to mix the salad with a plastic fork due to a giant clump of goat cheese lobbed into the bowl - had asked for dressing and salad mixed in - found a large hair.

Do yourself a favor and spend your time and money elsewhere - you deserve it.
