Nice smaller nursery in a busy city. Great selection of nutrients as well as plants and trees. Being a hot pepper enthusiast, I'm always on the prowl for uncommon genetics - found a few varieties I haven't seen before on shelves at other nurseries, now I can make this a place I check for hot pepper plants.
Prices for bagged soils are a little on the expensive side but I guess you pay a premium in the city.

Great variety and excellent customer services. Their prices are slightly higher, but the plants I buy here have a MUCH higher success rate compared to other nurseries in the area. If you become a member you can even return plants that have died for a refund.

As a novice gardener, I love that the staff are really helpful — they’ll give me tips for certain plants or even help me choose plants that will thrive in my patio.

native plant section - Judy 5 stars
I believe I know all the outlets for native plant sources in the SF Bay Area. This one is always a rotation of fresh surprises and for myself. over time, a learning and experimentation experience. Along with Google as a source, Judy always has good insight and instincts WRT the parameters for native gardener interest - a plants: deer resistance, drought tolerance, lighting requirements, soil types etc. Prices here are also very competitive which one would not expect given the "Palo Alto" address.

I’ve always had great experiences here. Judith, a native western plants pro, who is there a couple days a week, was particularly helpful today. Great selection, many excellent pots as well as plants and tools, helpful staff.

Love summer winds a lot. However I'd be weary of the indoor plants. The last time I got an indoor plant from them was 4 years ago and it thrived until a roommate killed it. But I just went back 6 days ago and got a ctenanthe lubbersiana (a Never Never prayer plant). I had noticed the overwatering on all the indoor plants but thought I'll cut back on it and turn up the humidity. Turns out it has extensive root rot, almost the whole $40 plant is dying. When I called asking for advice as I'd never had a plant with such rot, he said to cut back on watering.
They have really wonderful employees when you go in. Great outdoor plants, pot, and succulents. Just make sure to really get into the roots at the store on finicky indoor plants to see if any damage is manageable/ able to be saved. Just one star knocked as the many other plants I've had from them have done well.

I love this nursery! Great variety, seasonal, native plants. Staffs are knowledgeable and friendly. I got a few plants from this place and all have flourished. Definitely coming back for more plants.
