My husband and I spend a lot of money at Roche Brothers in Randolph, MA. We find the market’s produce, meat and poultry the best within this area. The prices are far too high for Randolph. Shopping for 2, for 1 week costs us $150-$300, depending on the occasion. We don’t mind spending extra if we’re finding the type of products we need, and the service is top notch. Unfortunately this has not always been our experience.
On many occasions my husband and I have gone elsewhere to shop, due to the high prices at this location. If the market was consistent in stocking the products we look for, price becomes a secondary matter. Randolph runs out of the best products consistently, never to be seen again. For instance, we used to buy an Italian brand of marinara sauce and when they ran out in Randolph, it was gone forever. Green Chili Sauce, Raspberry Frozen Yogurt… same thing. Do they not keep track of what is selling? We’re in the store weekly, we know when a product disappears.
Shortly after the New Year, we went to the fish/deli department. There was only 1 person working behind both counters, with a line of people waiting to be serviced. We felt bad for the woman who was doing her best to keep up, so we left. My only question was where was management? Did the poor woman not know to reach out for help?
Most recently, after returning home from our weekly grocery shopping, while putting away our groceries, I noticed that one of the items we purchased was missing. This was not the first time we experienced this incident and we were very angry! For the amount of money we spend at Roche Brothers, we do not want to run back to the store to retrieve an item that Roche Brothers should have put in our bag.
Whole Foods is looking better than ever!
