This place is an absolute must-visit! It was my first time here, and I was truly impressed by the stunning natural beauty and the unique combination of hot and cold water experiences. The scenery is breathtaking, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment. However, if you’re planning to visit during winter, be prepared—the road leading to the spring is quite steep and can be challenging to navigate. It’s highly recommended to have a well-equipped vehicle suitable for winter conditions.

The entrance fee is $20 per person, but if you prefer a hassle-free experience, you can opt for the shuttle service, which costs $50 per person and includes the entrance fee. This option is definitely worth considering, especially if you’re not comfortable driving in snowy or icy conditions.

Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and refreshing outdoor experience. Whether you’re soaking in the hot springs or enjoying the surrounding nature, it’s a visit you won’t regret!

It had the most beautiful bathroom I've seen. A cathedral of toilets. Unfortunately, there are no pictures.

We soaked in the springs for about 2 hours. Accessibility was an issue. My daughter is in a wheelchair and needed a piggyback ride into the actual pool areas and back up where her chair waited.

The hot springs were nice, too. 😉 AND we saw a moose 🫎 on the drive up!

We went during family-friendly hours. Clothing optional and adults only, after dark.

We made our reservation 2 weeks before we came to the hot springs. We arrived at 1:45 with no problem parking. Employees were nice. Bathrooms were clean. It was not too crowded. When we left around 3:45pm there were a lot more people coming. Overall it was a nice experience.

This experience was awesome and memorable! The facility is set in a remote natural environment which creates a unique ambiance.

The pools are a range of temperatures, and there are two large cold plunge pools as well! I recommend asking staff for details about which pools are warmer or colder so you know your way around. We were there at a peak time (Saturday night) and while it was crowded, we still had fun and there was space in all but the two smallest pools.

Bear in mind that you change in a small heated changing cabin and then bring your belongings down to the poolside once you're ready. There are NO lockers available, you just place your bag down on a chair - just FYI but I haven't heard about theft being an issue.

After dark it's a totally different experience! It is SO, SO dark which allows you to see the stars but also makes it very, very tough to find your way around - so again, try to ask for guidance before going down. Clothing is optional so a handful of people may be nude, but at the same time it's so dark you hardly notice. No photography or shining flashlights into the pools at nighttime.

The drive is a little sketchy so make sure you're up for it, otherwise use a private your company. Just review the other information and rules they list online. Bring a towel, water, and a plastic bag for your change of clothes. Totally worth it!

Disappointing Stay and Unprofessional Service

Our stay at this hot springs resort was unfortunately far from ideal. Upon arrival, we discovered that the heater in the cabin we had booked was not functioning, and we were offered an alternative cabin. While we were disappointed to not be in the larger cabin with the fireplace as initially planned, we accepted the change with the understanding that our original cabin would be ready first thing in the morning, and assistance would be provided to help us move our belongings.

However, the following morning, when we returned to inquire about the status of our original cabin, we were told it was not ready and that maintenance was scheduled for noon. The staff member’s response to our inquiry was dismissive, and when we expressed our concerns, he became belligerent and unhelpful.

After a day of skiing, we returned to the resort at 4:00 pm and were finally directed to our original cabin. Upon entering, we were immediately overwhelmed by a strong gas smell, which posed a serious safety risk. We reported this to the front desk, only to be told that the smell was a common occurrence in the older cabins, and that other guests had never complained. When we expressed our discomfort and requested a move, we were told that no alternative accommodations were available. The staff member promised to have a manager call us, but after waiting an hour without any communication, we called back. The response was again dismissive, and we were informed that no resolution would be offered.

After multiple attempts to reach the manager, I finally spoke with him two days later. While he agreed to issue a refund, he made it clear that he considered us a problem from the outset, stating that the resort was not suitable for us. This, despite the conflicting responses from staff about the gas smell, left us feeling disrespected and dismissed.

The overall service was marked by rudeness and a lack of accountability. Furthermore, the constant flow of busloads of guests, with no clear capacity limits, further detracted from our experience, making it feel overcrowded and chaotic.

We would not recommend this resort due to its poor customer service, lack of professionalism, and safety concerns. We were disappointed by our experience and will not be returning.

This place is definitely a must visit. You need a good car to get up the hills and into the lot. Bring good shoes to wear to hike down to the springs. Once at the springs you should bring your own towel and belongings. There are different hot and cold pools to walk around and dip in and out of. If you are there late bring a head lamp because it gets dark.

If I could describe this place in one word it would be magical. This place is so beautiful especially in the winter time and at night. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, in my opinion it is the best hot springs in Colorado. There are so many options for different pools and temperatures. One thing I really love is they are natural hot spring pools, it just feels that more special. The staff runs this place so well, they are absolutely fantastic! We spoke with Ross and he was so helpful😊 10/10 experience every time we go!

My husband and I had been eagerly anticipating our visit to Strawberry Hot Springs to celebrate our one-year anniversary. We’re not ones to leave reviews, but unfortunately, we felt the need to share our experience.

Upon arriving, we were caught off guard by an interaction with a “security guard” that COMPLETELY soured our visit. We were unaware of the policy about not leaving dogs in the car, even with a climate-controlled system, which we thought would be fine. If we’d known, we would have left them at the dog-friendly Airbnb we were staying at.

The security guard approached us very aggressively, and from the moment he saw us, he seemed determined to escalate the situation. He made my husband feel degraded, telling him that he was breaking "multiple rules" and that the cops would be upset because our dogs were in the car and had see my husband take a sip of a Coors Light can (which he drank hours earlier while skiing) only to ensure it wasn’t going to leak into the garbage bag. We were WELL aware of the no alcohol rule. My husband was NOT intoxicated at all and was very calm and respectful throughout the exchange, but the security guard didn’t let up. He even went to the car next to us and made comments to the woman there, suggesting she should avoid getting on the road with us and again repeating that my was husband was “intoxicated” making her visibly uncomfortable. She clearly did not want to be involved and clearly could tell she thought he was far over the line.

We were respectful, ready to leave, and simply wanted to enjoy the experience, but this interaction really ruined the vibe. The next day, we returned, and without the same security guard (thank god) and everything was much more pleasant. We also noticed at least three other cars with dogs in them and people drinking in the parking lot, and even by the springs, which was frustrating given how aggressively we were treated the day before.

While the springs themselves were beautiful, the experience was tarnished by this unprofessional encounter, and it’s hard to ignore that. We hope they address the behavior of their security staff because it was such a shame to let that overshadow what should have been a special anniversary celebration at a beautiful and relaxing place.
