The Outpost is just amazing! The restaurant and bar area are really great. Plenty of food choices and local beers on tap. The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin we stayed in was clean, comfortable and plenty of room for 2 families. So much better than a hotel and you can rent snowmobiles right on premise. All of the staff are so friendly and the service they provide is always exemplary. A Ten out of 10. Highly recommend 👌

Third visit to the Outpost and third time it was amazing! This time it was at Christmas. I love the new changes with the Coffee Bar - so awesome to be able to get coffee and a danish early in the morning! All the Staff were very friendly!!! Meals in the Restaurant were very good. Loved the Cabin I stayed in - very clean and bed/furniture comfortable. 🙂 The Cowboy Christmas event was really nice and Sleigh Ride very cool. Hope to be back again.

We had an amazing time at the Steamboat Lake Outpost! The room was clean, the lodge had awesome food and a cozy atmosphere, and we enjoyed lots of winter outdoor activities. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond for us to help us during a tough situation. Every staff member we encountered was helpful, kind and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

I booked a sleigh ride for my mom and niece. They had an amazing time! They loved the hot chocolate stop, getting to know the horses and the beautiful scenery. My husband and I enjoyed a nice beer by the fire while they enjoyed a sleigh ride. The beer selection was better than expected.

This location is the what memories are made of! The cabin was clean and updated providing a comfortable setting. The Outpost staff went above and beyond with everything. Whether a quick inquiry or more detailed information, each associate was happy to help and readily available. Having traveled across country to snowmobile, everything we needed was available at the Outpost and obtaining the snowmobiles was quick and efficient.

Five of us took a UTV 2 hour trip with our guide, Brandon. Best time ever for me personally. Exhilarating, little muddy, and beautiful scenery. We had been well prepared in advance with great information coming to us ahead of our trip. Employees across the board were friendly and helpful. It was an excellent time with family! I want to go again!!

We took a family trip and rented three cabins. We rented snow mobiles and had a great time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Only reason for not giving five stars is one of the cabins (cabin #2) was in much worse condition than the others and is need of repairs.

We stayed at The Steamboat Lake Outpost in June 2024, for the first time since summer 2019 before the Covid pandemic (when it was the Hahn's Peak Roadhouse). We are so glad to have made it back to the resort! It is now under new ownership and the whole resort looks spruced up. The new owners are renovating the cabins and the motel. The main building looks great and features their restaurant (counter service only, but the staff is good about checking on you - and the food is good!) and a tidy, convenient store. They offer ice and fuel, too. There are a couple RV hookups at the resort as well.||We were quite impressed with the front desk staff - super helpful, friendly and professional - both on the phone and in person! Keep up the great work!||We have always stayed in one of the motel rooms and have found them to be clean, cozy and comfortable. The view of Hahn's Peak is gorgeous! The rooms are quiet and feature two queen beds, cable TV, free (and good!) Wi-fi, a mini-fridge, microwave and tiny coffee maker.||What we like is the comfort and convenience of the resort being just two miles from Steamboat Lake State Park and not far from Pearl Lake State Park.||We look forward to returning soon!
