This company put together a very poorly constructed home with many mistakes. It’s Bern 8 mos of waiting for them to send workers to put on band aids to fix major problems. My father and I worked hard our whole life for this to be my retirement home and we got stuck with a company that cares more about $$ than customer care and satisfaction. I’m a RN and my father is a small business owner and we have never treated our clients so poorly.

After purchasing our home in 2023 we reported a wide range of issues from subflooring, caulking, drywall, cabinets, showers, windows, countertops, tile, heating and air, missing walls, along with other things. They sent people out to our home several times, and each time, we were given excuses of why stuff couldn't be fixed and told that things were not deficient. While some repairs were supposedly made, those were only cover-up jobs, leaving our home in worse condition than it was from the beginning. We have attempted to communicate with them with very little success and we have scheduled for them to come out two additional times one of which we took time off of work to accommodate only to find that no one would show or contact us. If there was a rating below one star, they wouldn't even get one. I would not recommend anyone purchase a shed from this company, much less a home.

We purchased a Scotbilt prefabricated home and it was placed on our property in April. All county sign-offs were completed in June. However, it is the middle of September, and we are still unable to move in due to poor construction and limited response from Scotbilt to perform repairs. We have had some representatives come, but none have done the required repairs, with one exception. They hired a contractor to come address mold in the ceiling from a previous leak. He removed the mold and began a patch of the ceiling, but was unable to come back to complete it. The repair has never been finished.
We have poor shower installation (bowed walls, gaps in paneling, poor caulking) that will cause water damage if we use it, doors, doorways and windows throughout the house were installed out of square so they don’t/cannot open or close properly, almost all door hinges are bent or twisted so the doors can’t shut, missing/damaged kitchen drawers, the stove was installed off center of the backsplash and microwave, mesh sheet rock tape is exposed on the ceilings throughout the house, and the list goes on and on! I have sent over 200 pictures of issues with a detailed explanation of each to Scotbilt and get the same response each time - “You’re on the list for our service guys”… we were told it could be “8 - 10 weeks” for all repairs to be completed once install was complete. Then we were told 10 - 12 weeks, then we were told 10 -14 weeks. When contacted again, the representative tried to tell us, “I told you it would be 10 - 16 weeks!” They have told us whatever they think we want to hear to get us off the phone, but then nothing happens.
Buyer beware if you are looking at Scotbilt!

Do not buy a home from these people. For starters they put crappy appliances in that do not come with any option for extended service plans and they break at the 12th and 13th month of ownership like clock work. For this reason I also will never buy Frigidaire products. The fridge has been leaking from the bottom and we can't figure out where, the dishwasher racks broke at 12 months. The oven works but the front burner does not work at all and no way to lift the range hood up to try and fix ourselves, Frigidaire quotes 150.00 just to come out and look not even to fix. The floors have all kinds of lumps in them from the people they hire to lay the flooring down who just cover their mistakes instead of fixing them. Walls and trim are crooked lol and not even just slightly it's extremely noticeable. The front door bolts are coming out and there is no way to tighten because either the holes were drilled too big or the bolts threading is stripped. The lack of storage space is laughable, I have three drawers in my kitchen and three cupboards the rest is just open cubbies. The light fixtures were too big for this small of space and looked like they belonged in an outdoor gazebo not inside a dinning room. The roof has a leak and we cannot see from where I was told their shingle roofs only come with a 1 year warranty like the rest of the house, lol roofs usually come with a standard 3 to 5 year warranty, they don't even stand behind their own work. I could go on and on. If a tornado or hurricane takes this place out I will not be replacing with Scotbilt. I highly recommend finding another builder.

We recently took a huge step and purchased our first home—a mobile home touted for its quality, built in 2024. However, we've encountered a significant issue: there is no air coming out of any of the vents, leaving us with a home that lacks proper heating. This is a major concern, especially for my family, which includes three children who have already faced numerous challenges since the pandemic.
Despite assurances of a "turn-key home," we're left with mounting frustration as we continue to pay our mortgage for a house we can't even move into due to the cold temperatures. The only responses we've received are apologies, but no real action has been taken to resolve the situation. It's disheartening to hear promises of "quality-built homes for 30 years," yet find ourselves unable to enjoy the basic comforts of our new space.
Our children are eager to settle into what should be a stable and comforting environment, but every day they are left to wonder when they will finally be able to live comfortably in their beautiful new home. Meanwhile, others rest easy each night, while we bear the burden of an unlivable space.
This experience has been nothing short of a disaster, and I regret purchasing this mobile home. We need accountability and actionable solutions, not just words. Our family's comfort and well-being depend on it.

When I was purchasing my house boy, let me tell you the sales people really know how to tell you everything you want to hear but once you give them the money, forget about it.
They don’t have the time of day for you. They cut corners everywhere.
I’ve been in my house for over a year and I still can’t get the punch list finished.
Now they’re telling me it’s past the factory one year warranty so we can’t do anything. We’ll have to use your warranty..
I highly recommend buying directly from the manufacturer like Clayton instead of going to this place.
But if you’re dead set on buying from them, just know there isn’t hardly any wood whatsoever on their cabinets. It’s all particleboard most of them aren’t even painted. They have vinyl stickers on them..
The craftsmanship On these houses Is absolute garbage.
Do yourself a favor stay as far away from Scottbuilt Homes as possible. And at all cost stay away from the sales people there.
Their communication skills is non existent and You will be lied to.

To say that I am unhappy is an understatement. This home is so poorly made that it's falling apart. Not even a yr into our new home we had so many leaks that destroyed the floor. Because they use the lowest grade piping it's plastic. They glue the sheet rock to the walls. They put sheet rock behind the showers. Not duro Rock that's supposed to be back there. Our dishwasher never worked ever. I'm just so disappointed in the lack of quality work and adequate supplies to do the job right.

Beware! The homes are not manufactured with high quality as we are told. The service for repairs is deceiving and excuses are the result. The company has various complaints and does not care about the quality of living they cause for the customer.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Our entire experience buying a home here was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. From the very beginning, we were fed one excuse after another. So many that it was honestly sickening.

We were told that if we chose a lot model instead of customizing our own, we would be "living in our new home in two weeks" instead of waiting "11 weeks" for a custom build. So, we went with the lot model.. and still didn’t get to move in for over THREE months. Every delay came with yet another excuse and zero accountability.

Then there was the “settling” issue. The salesman told us we had to wait 45 days for the home to "settle" before they would come back out to make any necessary repairs. So we waited, and when we reached out after that time, they suddenly claimed it had been too long and they were no longer liable. We explained exactly what we were told, and they brushed it off as “miscommunication.”

They eventually did come out to “fix” things, but the work was done so poorly and half-heartedly that it created even more problems. It was clear that they had no intention of doing things right. At that point, we gave up on them entirely and are now paying professionals out of our pocket to correct everything ourselves.

I wish I could post all of the pictures of how horrible some parts of our home are. Our vinyl siding looks awful and is warping. It really sucks to pay over $200k on a BRAND NEW HOME and end up with what all we have in damages. I never would've imagined buying a home being anything like this. You go look at these homes and they're absolutely beautiful. You're not told how bad they can be damaged upon delivery and you would never imagine having to fight a company to fix their mistakes. You also need to pay close attention to the tiny things because yes these homes look very nice but there's a lot of things inside them that are so cheaply made once you buy it and start really looking at everything. It's heartbreaking and literally devastating.

What should have been an exciting purchase turned into months of stress, frustration, and wasted time. This company does not stand by its word, does not communicate properly, and certainly does not value its customers. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else!

I wish I didnt have to leave this review because I hate wasting my time. This by far has been the biggest regret in my life buying this house from yall. You never answer the phone you never answer emails between lisa and Steven your wasting your time purchasing a home from here. It honestly looks like people drop there kids off there for a daycare center to build these houses. All three bathrooms are messed up. The kitchen completely needs rebuilt. Now we have to redo all the floors because yall refuse to show up. Since day one the ac has never been right. Hands down the worst service and purchase I've ever dealt with. Maybe seeing this review yall will open your eyes and monitor your employees when assembling this houses. Yall charge so much for such less its not even funny. Im sorry to have to leave a review but im not sorry not one of yall can reach out to us and try to resolve this issue with this house.
