Best smoked Black Cod in all Alaska! The schmear is with writing home about (or even shipping home! ) Jim and Buck were very hospitable... even gave samples! Totally with every dollar to experience smoked salmon in Alaska!

AMAZING! Forget about all the other souvenirs and gifts. Just spend your money on some amazing smoked fish and fish spread and smear.

We got to sample everything they had in stock:

Smoked black cod w. honey wine brine
Salmon shmear
Black cod truffle shmear
Black cod wasabi ginger shmear

All of it was amazing. I would have gotten all of it but decided on a bit of each. Come here and support local business!

Great people making incredibly delicious and fresh smoked fish! I really wanted to enjoy some fresh, local fish in Seward and Saltwood Smokehouse is definitely the place! From the moment you walk in the door, they are so friendly and helpful. Without batting an eye, they began giving me samples of the wonderful fish and wonderful ways they prepare it. If you are looking for fresh, local smoked salmon or smoked black cod, then you need to visit this place and these people! On a side note, because they prepare everything is so freshly prepared, be aware that they can sell out quickly and you may need to be patient until the next day's catch.... but it is soooooo with it!

They make the best smoked salmon I've ever had, and the smoked black cod (which I'd never had before) is delicious. The dips and spreads are pretty awesome as well. 100% worth stopping by.

Prepare to fall in love and kick the smoked salmon to the curb the moment you taste the smoked black cod!
That is not to say that the smoked salmon isn't good, it is but trust me and try the smoked black cod.
We ordered the smoked black cod schmear (wasabi, ginger, garlic) in a local brewery and I had to know more about it.
That was the moment I learned about Saltwood Smokehouse and the hunt was on to get as much as we could before leaving Seward.
The owner is amazing and responded to our email super fast. We were able to stop in, get our fill on samples, learn about the whole process even down to the history of the wood they use to smoke, the reason behind the design of their logo, and just so much information.
Back in the lower 48 I found myself craving the amazing, mouthwatering, sole satisfying goodies of Saltwood Smokehouse...Order placed and in about a week I am enjoying and reminiscing of our time in Seward with their black cod, dips and schmears.
This may have been my first shipped order; I can PROMISE you it will not be my last!!!

The best smoked fish I have ever tasted. We bought some smoked black cod there during a short stay in Seward and were surprised by the awesome flavor. Definitely a place to stop by when visiting Seward the cute small town.
