We have gardened here for 4 seasons. We love love love this place. The kindest people. Great soil. A restored prairie to hike in and watch the sunset. The garden is run really well. People work together. Gardeners from around the world, bringing their agricultural traditions and precious seeds with them. Tools supplied. Some seeds. Everyone shares: advice, starts, produce. Pollinators. Raspberries. Rhubarb for all. This is our happy place. Feeds our bodies and our souls. Cannot recommend it too highly. Come.

I work one day a week on the farm for my weekly CSA share. Love farming and this is my 12th growing season with the farmer that manages the farm.

The price is right for a 20' x 20' plot, water and tools There is a generous amount of sun- no extra charge. The prairie makes for a nice walk after some hard weeding. You might even hear the glorious song of the Baltimore Oriole. Only a small amount of theft by two-legged marauders. The ground squirrels however are a different story and deer also may pay visits to unfenced plots. Some of the bugs built up by decades of intensive gardening make it hard to grow certain plants like cucurbits and potatoes (no pesticides allowed). All in all though, it is a good way to stay connected to the land and provide some cheap organic produce.

This place is a beautiful giant community garden that offers many different groups and programs and they also sell their vegetables on Thursdays. Behind the actual garden they have long winding walking paths with lots of free fruit trees to eat from while you walk 🙂

Kids fun groups, greenhouses, farms, chickens, and more. Truly one of my fav places in Madison.

To be honest I only come here to snag the 6 PokeStops that you can reach just by parking on the side of the road, but on a nice day it's a great way to get out and stroll around (maybe snag a free cherry tomato or two) PLUS COMMUNITY PIZZA OVEN - GOTTA TRY THAT OUT.

Went for the Thursday csa sale day. This happens every week and they bake pizzas in an outdoor oven with veggie toppings from their own farm. I did not buy any veggies but the pizza was delicious.
