This place is AMAZING! If you like horses, then this is the place for you. Free parking and free admission. It gets crowded quickly, so be sure to arrive when they open at 11 because there's so much to see and a lot of ground to cover. Don't forget to bring lots of carrots and apples and bananas. Each horse has a name and a story. There are also some resident cats. Morris is awesome! Bring along sunscreen and a hat and wear comfortable shoes. They do sell carrots for a donation but will accept $$ donations. They have other items for sale to raise funds such as t-shirts and jewelry; great souvenirs! These horses are so lucky to have such a wonderful place to live out the rest of their years. This place is definitely worth a visit.

This was THE MOST therapeutic, beautiful, happiest place on earth. When we first arrived, we were asked if we’ve ever been to this property before. We said no & the kindest gentleman informed us about ALL the amazing services they do for these beautiful horses; what to feed them, which ones cannot be fed, the volunteer work, the learning opportunities for UF students, the passion behind opening this, and more. We arrived there about 15 minutes after opening their doors & it was already packed!
Tips: plan ahead! Bring carrots, apples and bananas. Wear clothes toes shoes (a lot of acres to walk), bring sunblock, water & of course a camera! Bring cash to make donations. Enjoy yourself and take your time! They do close at 3:00 PM though.
This was such an amazing experience I had on my vacation & would absolutely love to go back

Absolutely amazing! Bring your own apples, carrots, and bananas so you can feed the lovely horses. There’s plenty of horses and the staff is super friendly. This is a great activity to do with kids, family, and friends. The horses are very well taken care of and have a beautiful energy. Come with plenty of time so you can explore the huge area. Will come again.

This is great. We will be back. It was very therapeutic. The horses are large and small. The volunteers were so informative and helpful. You must check this place out. We took apples, bananas and carrots. Some horses you can feed and some you not. Some you cannot give carrots. We did not know horses eat bananas. They loved them.

Such a wonderful way to spend a Saturday!
Bring lots of carrots, apples, and or bananas to feed the horses. Trust me, you'll want to feed every single horse!
Donations are accepted but it is free to enter. They sell cute tshirts at the entrance/exit.
Bathrooms are very nice and near the front. You may bring your own food/drink to consume while walking or there are benches throughout. We carry light backpacks with water, sunscreen, and snacks as we like to walk all the paths and are there for a few hours.
Almost every area is paved so this is very stroller friendly. They have golf carts and are happy to drop you off/pick you up as desired so even those with less mobility can enjoy the horses and not just be stuck at the very front.
Horses here are rescues and retirees. Some have health concerns, missing eyes, etc... so children may have questions. Some cannot have carrots but can have bananas (choking issues) and all who want it will be at the fence waiting for attention even if they don't get fed. The volunteers at the front will explain everything to you upon entry and offer a map.
Dogs are not allowed.
They are only open on Saturdays, 11-3

Such a beautiful place, it doesn't cost anything but a generous bag of carrots/apples/bananas. And who wouldn't want to bring the horses a delicious snack I do recommend you bring a good variety since some horses may not be able to eat carrots etc. It's definitely a large property, but it's a beautiful walk. Bring sneakers, water, human snacks, and sunscreen. They have a bathroom so once you're done loving the horses you can wash your hands. I spent about 3 hours walking and feed ALL the horses.

Such a great concept to open the horse farm up to the public to allow us to feed the sicken, malnourished, and forgotten steeds. Great photo opportunities for everyone and a leisurely stroll amongst the fields and the horses who seem to love it. Free with donations to snag carrots to feed the animals.
