Instead of looking at alpacas behind a fence, you get the chance to spend time with a herd of alpacas on the farm. Feed them, pet them, and just generally spend a peaceful afternoon. Renee is a kind and thoughtful host. The setting is beautiful. Overall very fun, and somewhat therapeutic. I would definitely visit again and I consider this a much better experience than offered anywhere else in Northern California.

I visited R2 Hillside Ranch last weekend with my boyfriend for my 30th birthday. I wanted to be around animals and this was the perfect experience! The owners are so open and you can tell that sharing this experience with the public brings them joy. The owner had a smile on her face the whole time. The alpacas are so friendly. Feeding them and petting them is hilarious and sweet! We also got to feed the two mules on the property. It was such a fun and educational experience. She brought out her sheep dogs too, which made my day. For such a low price, you get so much close-up time with these animals. Highly recommend!

We had an incredible time at R2 Hillside Ranch. From the moment we arrived, the owners were extremely helpful and accommodated our visit at 2:30pm instead of 4:00pm. The lady owner provided great insights into the alpacas, allowing us to interact with and feed these gentle creatures.

The alpacas were so friendly and playful, and we had supreme fun spending time with them! It was a relaxing, hands-on experience that was both educational and enjoyable. The peaceful surroundings of the farm added to the charm, making it a perfect day out. We can't recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning!

My husband and I went to the R2 Hillside Ranch (Alpaca Farm) today! We met Renee the owner and she was the sweetest person! We got to learn about the Alpacas and go in and meet them. Definitely had a blast and plan to come back in the future

Our R2 Hillside Ranch Alpaca Experience was simply awesome! I would highly recommend them if you are interested in beautiful alpacas. It has always been a dream of mine to get up close to these majestic and gentle creatures and today that dream came true thanks for owners, Rich and Renee. They were both so welcoming and accommodating to our schedule since we were visiting out of state. Renee was very responsive to my online inquiry, provided directions to the ranch, and Rich greeted us and patiently answered all of our questions about the alpaca herd. They take very good care of all of their alpacas and there were even a few year old babies that we got to see. The highlight was getting to feed the alpacas pine branches that were provided and I also asked if we could bring shredded carrots as well. Rich provided some bowls and I included a photo of my son feeding the shredded carrots which they all loved. Thank you again Renee and Rich for an unforgettable experience!!!

It was a fun experience. Highly recommend for the family easy to find. Renee was very helpful and providing us information before our visit. First time seeing alpaca and mules. We were able to feed them and the mules. Lot of pictures were taken and Renee was telling us interesting facts about them. Most likely will go again to take the family. Thank you Renee and Richard.

I made a reservation to visit R2 Hillside Ranch on a day that happened to get a lot of intermittent rain. I’m glad that it didn’t deter my family from wanting to go, and thankful to Renee (owner) for continuing to host the visit. This was our first-ever alpaca experience. Renee was responsive with our inquiries and gave us plenty of directions and advice. We were given safety tips before entering the paddock. Alpacas, like any other animal in nature, are likely to shy away from touch, but Renee will share how can get a few in. They are adorable to look at while you are feeding them. The ranch is picturesque. The host is warm, gracious, and fun to swap stories with. Our family has 2 teen girls and they were happy for the up-close experience. The tour is not private. Other families may appear at the same time. If you need more info, just connect with Renee. Overall it was a great way to gain some serenity if you need to escape from regular life. We would visit again even just to chill with Renee in this beautiful place.
