Saying that the cider here is better than other cider doesn't do it justice. It's not just better, it's a different kind of thing. This is small batch natural cider made from small harvests from long-lost local orchards and groves and the flavor isn't just good, or dry, or complex—it's the best and most artful showcase of what can be done with carefully selected fruit I've ever experienced. There's a reason bottles from this place are served at Atelier Crenn. Talk to the cidermaker, everything here has stories of history and place behind it.

Posterity carefully crafts each small batch of their wonderful ciders using heirloom apples and local collabs. Very fortunate to have them in our area, re-envisioning fermented cider with age-old traditions!

Like cider? If not, you will! This isn’t your average sweet cider. Every batch is carefully crafted to bring out the best characteristics of the local apple trees, some of which are over 100 years old. Posterity Ciderworks opened its doors about a month ago, but they already feel well established. The cidermaker, Brendan, is doing amazing things with local heritage and wild apples of the Sierra Foothills (and their own orchard). We were able to stop by for a small tour & generous tasting, and were so impressed by Brendan’s passion for old local trees, dedication to process and quality, and the fantastic flavor that goes into every small batch. This is well worth a visit to Gold Country. I can’t wait to come back and try a new cider! Schedule a tour & tasting with the cidermaker so you can learn what’s so unique about the cidery and each small batch.

By far the best cider I’ve ever had, with a variety of flavor profiles and styles, exceptional story and process behind them, and well worth the price for both the tour and the ciders themselves.

The tour and tasting is both accessible and informative to those across the spectrum of knowledge of wine and cider.

Visit now before they become nationally famous, which I have no doubt is coming soon.

I tried the flight of ciders and they were WONDERFUL! The owner is so welcoming and friendly, and makes everything right there! He includes interesting history about each type of cider and explains the process of making it. It is so wonderful to have a local place with great drinks and great local knowledge! You can test the ciders, or have a bottle with a friend and drink right there! We will be returning for sure!

Take the turn here!! On a long drive south, I saw a sign at a intersection and wow am I glad I followed it! A charming shop owned by the most kind and friendly couple, who brew DELICIOUS cider. I loved hearing their origin story, about the local terroir and vintage reclaimed apple orchids. The cider is some of the tastiest and most complex I've ever had, and it's absolutely worth the stop to have a flight. I ended up buying far more cider, since it's pretty out there 😉

This place is awesome, but let's get this out of the way.. There are no non-alcoholic options.. Only hard cider.

Brendan and his wife have created a great vibe here. The ciders are awesome; each one is unique and gives a different experience.

This is a must. Especially if you're tired of wine from the day.

This cider completely changed my definition of cider. The cider here has an wide variety of depth and flavor that I hadn't tasted in cider before coming here. I got my wine snob Father to try the cider here and he was immediately Sold!

The owners are extremely friendly and are always a joy to talk with.
