Keeping a grocery store open in a one horse town has to be challenging with a Wal Mart Super Center only 30 minutes away

When shopping here always check the expiration date, 95% of the time the stuff is already expired or will be expired within a month or less. Who wants expired yogurt or milk, I certainly don’t.
You’ll be better off driving 30 miles to Walmart for decent non expired foods.

Even though it’s a small town, I think this place needs a self check out area because I prefer to check and bag the stuff myself because 1. I don’t like talking to people and 2. Most people who work in a grocery store don’t even know how to bag right. I mean it’s common sense to not put everything into ONE bag crushing and bruising bread and bananas?

Also when I’m always being checked out, the cashier is never friendly, and every time during the transaction there’s ALWAYS someone (another customer) coming up to start a conversation, and it’s irritating as I’m trying to get out of there as it’s not my favorite spot to hang out and also I don’t need to hear your life story.

Prices aren’t always the best, it’s best to shop during the deals otherwise you’re paying $5.00 for a loaf of bread.

This store has come along way and can see they are putting a lot of effort with adding faster staff and better prices. Still need more organic produce options but it is so much better than it used to be.
