I typically only review places that I absolutely love and/or places where the service is really top notch, and Nick's ticks both of those boxes.

The food is excellent. The service is fast, friendly, and attentive. The portion sizes are, in a word, epic.

In the past three weeks, I've tried their basic cheese pizza (very good), their tuna melt (great, and served with out-of-this-world steak fries), and their eggplant Parmesan (delicious and big enough to serve four normal people or three very hungry dancers).

The relaxed, homey atmosphere hits just right. The bar side can get boisterous (in a good way!), but the diner-style dining room side stays quiet and family-friendly.

Overall, a great spot. If you're in Bethlehem, CT, it's well worth a visit, but make sure to come hungry!

PS: if someone ever manages to leave room for dessert, please let me know how the rice pudding is ... It's so tempting but I'm always too stuffed ^-^'

Great little spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good coffee and breakfast sandwich. Casual atmosphere with booths, tables and a bar (but no booze).

I popped in to Nick's for a late lunch today. I ordered French onion soup and Chicken Florentine over ziti. It was absolutely delicious. The serving was so large it is easily 3 meals for me. My waitress was very sweet and attentive. This is by far the best value restaurant in the area.

I so badly wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars after our visit there the evening of Feb 21 as we had a great experience there and great food. We sat at the bar to eat and the bartender (a petite blonde woman) was very sweet and very attentive and knowledged.

The two stars given would have been 1 star had it not been for the first visit. We were ice fishing in the area and stopped again the next night on Feb 22. Horrible experience. I would have complained at the time however the bartender never came back to check on anything and was not friendly. We started with lobster bisque and it would have been delicious but was not hot at all. We had corn chowder the night before that was also delicious but lukewarm. My husband ordered the NY steak special with onions and gorgonzola and I ordered fried chicken. The salad served first was not cut up and was inundated with onions. Our food came and my dinner was advertised as "1/2 chicken". I have attached a photo of most of my dinner that I brought home simply to take a photo. Please notice the "drumette" that they passed off as a chicken leg! It is a drumette that is normally served with chicken wings. The wing was so small and just bone. The thigh and breast were both the same size and tiny. Both were so dry they could not be eaten. My husband's NY steak was excellent after you took the huge pile of onions off the top. Both of us had cold mashed potatoes and my husband had vegetables that were cooked to mush. My coleslaw was inedible.

Sad experience to say the least and the worst of it was the service. $75 is insanely priced for poor food and service. We will not return.
