horrific conditions for both the workers trying to make a living and the innocent animals who are killed mercilessly. it is straight out of a horror movie, but worse, as it is real life. the entire facility as well as the surrounding block reeks of absolute hell. a worker was seen out front taking a smoke break with his head in a van, possibly to relieve himself of the putrid smell of death, he looked miserable. at the same time, just inside the property, I witnessed chickens screaming in agony in their last moments of life. I will never forget these noises. chicken feathers, cartilage, and body parts cover the floor and seep out into the street. the only reason places like this are up and operating is due to the consumer demand for quick and cheap meat. I urge everyone to reserve resentment for the bigger picture and our cultural obsession with excessive meat consumption with no connection to the lives of the animals that pay the price of our greed. the other reviews are correct; this is a hell hole, but it’s a direct reflection of demand. this is how quick and cheap meat products come to fruition.
