It is the only brand of seed I will use. It is free of dyes, sugar, and preservatives. I like that I can choose sunflower seed-free mixes. I have used the Conure, Parrot, and Cockatiel. Like all natural seeds, you have to put the bags in the freezer for 48 hours. (If you don't get moths, you should ask what the manufacturer sprayed the seeds with.) My birds love these. Together with fresh whole foods, fruits, vegetables, some human foods like rice, beans, pasta, you have a whole food, super healthy diet. These seeds are also fortified. Been feeding this brand for 13 years.

Edit to respond:
Puffed corn and shelled peanuts are NOT to be fed to a rabbit EVER. Any rabbit savvy person would know that. And the amount of fruit in there is absolutely unnecessary. Your food IS NOT rabbit friendly.

Hey! Your rabbit food is completely unacceptable! Nothing in it is FOR a rabbit? How is hay not the very 1st and main ingredient in your pellets? If you're a rabbit owner DO NOT BUY their products!!!

I've been buying Sweet Harvest cockatiel bird seed (from Amazon). The packages are full of little worms that develop into little moths. I have left several vms for their Customer Service, but no response. Has anyone else had this same experience with the moths?

MOTH & LARVA INFESTED BIRD SEED

Who would have suspected that an innocent wholesale purchase of wild bird seed from a popular Colorado company would result in a substantial infestation of pantry moths in our large commercial storage facility?

Upon our 2000 pound shipment from Kaylor, the seed was evidently crowded with a multitude of moth eggs just waiting to hatch. When warmer weather hit, wow, did ever they hatch. Inside the bags, they formed expansive masses of tangled webs and seed clumps that ruined countless bags. Worse yet, thousands upon thousands of maggot-like larvae escaped the bird seed bags and invaded our facility as they transformed into the equivalent population in moths. These highly-mobile maggots and winged pests also tried to invade our retail store, fortunately without much success, but not before ruining more than $1000 in luxury dog beds as well as other nearby products.

Since we don’t use chemicals in the presence of our pet food products, finding natural ways to help control these larvae and moths was downright challenging. Cedar oil and adhesive moth traps have helped us start to gain control of this unexpected population explosion.

We understand and appreciate that Kaylor and their bird seed sources do not use pesticides either. But we received no forewarning of this potential pest invasion problem. Worse yet, Kaylor refused to offer us any returns or credit for the hundreds of dollars in lost bird seed and pet bed products, let alone offer any help with the overall moth onslaught.

After the fact, Kaylor’s response to their imposed dilemma was to freeze the affected seed, but who has sufficient freezer space for thousands of pounds of bird seed? How unfair of them to subject our storage facility and our entire store as well as our customers and their collective households to the potential for infestation of pantry moths.

We still recognize the local merits of this company and we’re certainly not trying to burn a bridge. But it is important to let other Kaylor product retailers, and bird seed customers and know of this insect invasion possibility.

Knowing full well this could happen, it would have been a much more acceptable business practice for Kaylor to inform us of this possible outcome in advance, and then encourage us to order smaller quantities at a time. That way we could have sold through the product more quickly and customers could have used it long before the eggs hatched en masse to start the life cycle of these devastating pantry moths.

In closing, it is difficult to imagine Kaylor would have knowingly put anyone through this type of financial hardship and pest elimination challenge, but that’s exactly what happened to us. Please use caution with your bird seed purchases as they private label for other companies, including national chains.

Bought cockatiel food from Amazon - purchased it at least 6 times prior. Last purchase was in my storage cabinet. The seal was not done correctly and there was mold on the top of the bag between the top and the open tab. Seeds were there and the bag was sealed above it. One part was open. I called this company and tried to exercise their
guarantee as printed on the bag. Replace or refund. Guess what? They don't honor that. Seems to me that's false advertising. I jumped thru hoops and Amazon just refunded my Money. (As usual - they are the best) Only thing I got from this company was an "I'm sorry"... No more orders... Customer service - terrible and again False Advertising. Wish there was a blank star.
