On Christmas Day afternoon very few restaurants are open in the area. This is one of them with good reviews. All the more it’s a vegetarian place, great Christmas gift after hikes in Big Sur. They could accommodated us without reservation, very sweet of them. Ordered Tamale pie and yellow curry. Both were very good. I wish I know how they make their yellow curry. That was delicious, serving portion was bit small. Avoid mango juice if you don’t like sugary juice. Service is excellent and quick. Dessert section looks inviting.

It has outdoor seating and takeout options as well.

Highlight of the restaurant is the artistic restroom. It’s a piece of art and one shouldn’t miss.

Overall, this place is really fun. The soup was fantastic. The mushroom sampler was really fun and interesting but a little hard to really taste the mushrooms because they were deep-fried. The big salad was good but the grilled veggies somehow we’re not 100% fresh. And the curry was very good but a little too sweet for my taste.

And then we had a vegan cake and it was not very good.

Another little thing is that they have these fun test tube infusers for the tea, but they don’t give you Anything to put the diffuser in once you’re done brewing so that would be a fun thoughtful addition for them to consider

The cauliflower wings were delicious. They had a great crisp. The low spicy option was pretty spicy so I’m glad we didn’t order the spicier one. The tea was beautifully presented. The waitress was very friendly and kind.

Great food for vegetarian. Their signature curry had great flavor and the brown rice was perfect in my opinion.
The tamales were not as crispy as I had hoped, but being doused in guacamole tends to do that, a fair trade.
The brownie was good, but the caramel sauce missed the mark due to coconut but that's to be expected from a vegan recipe.

The Vegan Rita pizza was AMAZING! It looked, smelled and tasted wonderful.
The server noted our vegan questions and suggested the vegan desserts. We got strawberry vanilla d Chocolate raspberry.
The simple salad was crisp, with great pickled onions & fresh sweet tomatoes.

Returned to have breakfast 2 days later.

We came to Julia's for lunch today. It was a fabulous experience. The staff was welcoming, polite and helpful in choosing our dishes. We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower, the yellow curry taco salad as well as the soup of the day which was spicy squash. Everyone loved their dishes and we also had a kava kava tea experience. We will definitely return.

I had the orange cauliflower and it was a viable alternative to orange chicken- perfectly cooked vegetables, fresh mushrooms and a delicious sauce with great consistency.

However at 25 dollars a plate……. Well you question the economics. There are various Thai spots in the area that offer delicious veggie dishes at sub $15.

However, despite the shortcoming on price it’s a great spot with a lovely decor. Would return to try the curry.

The vegetarian food here actually tastes delicious. The feux orange chicken was so yummy and flavorful. I love the cordyceps in the mushroom medley. Service was great. The servers were helpful and sweet. The place was really hot inside when I went, so I chose to sit outside instead. There are some cute outdoor tables.
