Cute and quaint! My partner and I stayed here while on our honeymoon, and the entire experience was incredible. The hotel was gorgeous, the rooms had character, and the staff was kind. You can walk out the front door and be near a strip of restaurants and stores, not to mention walking distance to the Emily Dickinson Museum and burial site. I absolutely would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy place to stay in Amherst.

This was a treat! We live in Maine and were driving to see family for Thanksgiving, but we had to pick up family at Bradley early in the am. So we drew a one-hour circle around Bradley and did a search for "historic inns," and we found the Inn on Boltwood. It was fantastic from the moment the very helpful and friendly desk staff greeted us to our lovely (and nicely furnished) room with fireplace to an extraordinary dinner in the restaurant. After dinner, we sat outside by the fire, which they even cranked up for us even though we were the only ones there! We will return so we have time to explore Amherst and enjoy the brunch as well!

I’m very sad to say that this is just an average to poor place to stay . Our family has deep ties to Amherst College and are pretty certain that the hotel’s proximity to the college is the only thing keeping this place afloat.|First , there is no assistance whatsoever with luggage ; even a trolley would have been much appreciated , especially since close by parking is scarce. We initially parked in the “overflow” parking lot after driving past multiple closer parking spots labeled “electric vehicle only”. The magnetic keys are an issue which they alert you about when you check in, but why not fix it , other hotels have figured it out. We returned to our far away car to retrieve the remainder of our luggage less than an hour after checking in only to find that our magnetic key already did not work! Walked back to front desk to get a new key and mentioned the empty EV parking spots.|“Oh you can park there”!!! - why not alert all guests on arrival?!|I was told when checking in that room cleaning service was optional and “I notice you’re only staying for 2 days”… in other words “ surely you don’t need it” I told them that was fine but I would appreciate clean towels , was told they would be delivered by noon of the following day - that did not happen! I had to return to the front desk to request them|There is a keurig coffee maker in the room ( thank you) . The water bottles are complimentary but you have to fetch them at the front desk. Why can’t they be in the room?|At these rates there should really be a fridge in the room.|Many of these items are not huge asks and could be easily fixed….so disappointed!

Truly what a wonderful and magical experience. Check in and check out were very easy, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, the Inn provided an old timey feel that we were looking for, the Inn is in the best spot where everything in town is walkable, and the restaurant located right in the hotel (30Boltwood) was delicious (they serve both dinner and brunch)!! We even had a gas fireplace right in our room! It was the most perfect little getaway and we can not wait to return again!!

This was our third visit to this hotel. The building is undergoing an extensive exterior restoration. During peak periods, in addition to surge prices (room in the mid-200’s are over $500), you may be in a room whose windows are surrounded by scaffolding and plastic netting, making your room darker—the hotel’s rooms have smallish historic style windows to begin with. The front desk was remarkably unsympathetic.

Our experience at The Inn on Boltwood was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the exceptional service provided by the entire staff, especially Stephen at the Front Desk and Robin, who orchestrated our Welcome Event and 30th Birthday Dinner. The Inn served as the perfect home base for our wedding weekend, ideally situated in the heart of downtown Amherst and within easy walking distance for our guests. It effortlessly combined the historic charm of an inn with modern amenities that are essential for a relaxing vacation.

Robin, Stephen, and the rest of the team were not just lovely but incredibly accommodating, always available to address my queries and ensure our stay was seamless. They assisted us in managing our budget for the room block and crafting a memorable Welcome Party on the Terrace with its captivating brick fireplace. Moreover, they went above and beyond by collaborating closely with us to organize a beautiful and intimate 30th birthday dinner in the enchanting Garden Room adjacent to the Restaurant. Their willingness to listen to our ideas and translate them into reality, despite it being a first for them sometimes, was truly remarkable. From elegantly spaced cocktail tables on the terrace to delectable food and drinks, every detail was executed flawlessly.

Noteworthy was their quick response to our last-minute need for additional space to organize welcome baskets, for which they graciously provided a conference room, easing our stress. I wholeheartedly recommend The Inn on Boltwood to anyone seeking a memorable stay, be it for a weekend getaway or a wedding celebration, because the staff makes you feel like part of the family. Their dedication to exceeding expectations and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere sets them apart, ensuring that every moment spent at the inn is unforgettable.

We had a wonderful time at this charming inn. From the attentive front desk staff (chocolate chip cookies at check in!) to the elegant and inviting library (huge fireplace!) to the well appointed guest room and delicious brunch, we couldn't imagine a better place to spend our weekend getaway in New England. Our room on the third floor was like a secret hideaway complete with a fireplace, wing back chair and stunning bathroom. I loved chatting with the front desk staff the first morning while I helped myself to free coffee and enjoyed the lounge. I also got some great advice about what to see in the area! I can't wait to come back!

I just ordered a delicious, seasonal beer here and sat in the library to study and work. I love coming here anytime I’m in town. So cozy and warm. Lovely staff. I haven’t stayed in the rooms yet, but the restaurant and library are fantastic.
