We were planning on visiting a couple of local farmers markets in the upcoming days when we happened upon the U-Pick farm. What a wonderful surprise. The owner, Maragarite, was a delight and we had a blast picking through the endless fruits and vegetables that day. We brought home waaaayyy too much and will have fun giving some to family, friends and eating, juicing, pickling and preserving the rest.

Oh, and we canceled our plans for farmers market. Living in San Miguel, the U Pick farm will be my go-to for fresh-from-the-plant fruit and vegetable shopping from now on

What we picked that day: Different varieties of tomatoes, icuding green ones for pickling, apples, persimmons, eggplant, grapes, pomegranate, pears, and I'm probably forgetting some others...
