I just got into brewing beer and wine. This place has 95%of the supplies i need . The staff is so great. Very accommodating and friendly. Their prices are amazing. Trust me if you need it , they will have it . Except for koji

Henry Voelcker Inc and the Homebrew shop both have a great selection and are very helpful, but…

I stopped in to again purchase a refill of my 5lb c02 tank and only received 2.74 lbs of c02.
Tare weight of tank 7.82 lbs, total weight 10.56 lbs. (10.56 – 7.82 = 2.74).

See photo of regulator after attaching it to said tank upon arriving home. 500 psi, just like last time.

I should be getting between two and four kegs out of 5lbs of c02, instead of just one five gallon keg.
When I took the keg there it was cold, straight from the fridge.

When they fill they just equalize the pressure from the big tank to your small tank. No pump or scales.

Oh well, its this method or exchange my brand new tank for a used full one somewhere else. From what I have heard those exchange tanks are also filled by equalizing pressure between tanks anyway.

...What’s it like to have a full 5lbs of c02?

Staff was friendly but website is misleading, says they carry a wide variety of home brew supplies, however they are no longer ordering new stock. Options are very limited and obviously old stock (dusty, faded packaging) might help in a pinch but wouldn't be my first or second pick for homebrewing supplies, they really should update their website. The employee working was very friendly and helpful, recommended another homebrew shop that might have what I was looking for and apologized for the inconvenience. If you're looking for something already brewed they seem to have a large selection, if you're looking to brew it yourself call first and see if they have it before you make the drive.

I Drove 40 minutes to get here only to find out they don’t sell home brew equipment anymore. Next time I find a place online, I guess I’ll call first to verify. They were very apologetic, but they really need to update their website.

The beer selection is normally great here but I found it lacking today (Saturday afternoon) with a bunch of empty shelves. Prices are reasonable and they sell from singles, to cases.
