With out-of-town guests in search of last-minute gifts, we decided to stop by the Hammond Candy Factory store. Though we didn’t have time for the tour, the visit was still an enjoyable and unique experience, even for those who aren’t avid candy lovers. The store truly offers something for everyone, from a vibrant jellybean wall and gourmet popcorn selections to an enticing chocolate counter. The bright, cheerful, and welcoming atmosphere made the visit all the more enjoyable.

Despite arriving during the last hour of business, when staff were likely still recovering from the busy holiday season, we were greeted warmly and received friendly assistance at the jellybean wall and chocolate counter. Our guests were thrilled to find the specific Hammond candy they’d been searching for, and the trip was a success.

It had been years since my last visit, and I was delighted to find the experience even better than I remembered. Hammond Candy Factory is now firmly on my list of must-visit spots for out-of-town guests—a fun indoor activity with the added bonus of delicious treats and a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour to explore next time.

Came here on a snowy slushy day for a tour. Due to the slowdown getting there, when I asked the staff they let us join the last tour. The informational video before the tour was actually pretty entertaining. Didn’t get to see as much since it was the last tour of the day, but it was really neat seeing some candy canes being worked on. The shop worked its magic on me and I got several candies plus a cutesy pen. Definitely recommend checking this out whether you’re someone who lives here or visiting.

Signed up for the free tour as my sisters were visiting for the week and it ended up being a fun quick experience especially since it was freezing cold outside. The tour itself is simple and, since we were there on a Saturday, there wasn't a lot of activity going on. The intro video was very interesting and informative and the tour guide was also knowledgeable. We spent the most time shopping in their retail store which was quite enjoyable. Who would have thought you could spend so much money on sugar? Staff was friendly and there quite a few tours going on. We were late for our tour but they easily fit us into the next one. If you need something fun and different to do recommend this, location is easy to find and there was plenty of parking (maybe bc it was so cold out).

So disappointed.. I received the 12 candy canes and 2 bags of mix hard candy.. both bags of candy were all broken up and there was only 2 broken pieces of ribbons candy… the candy canes were wrapped so well only 1 cane was broken.. I had to rewrap them until Christmas so they would no break..
the flavor Of the hard Candy seamed off, all colors but only like maybe 3 flavors. What happened to those fun holiday flavors? No spearmen's, cinnamon, cherry or berry? Only had a Peppermint, maybe pineapple? And something else..

Welcome to heaven on earth! This candy shop has been authentically hand making their candy since 1920! I was in awe during my entire tour of their operation!
Who could imagine, using the same 100 year old machines they used when they started! Not to mention the quality control to guarantee that every bite is phenomenal!

Would highly recommend going on this FREE tour! It’s a no brainer! Very kid friendly , my kids had a blast! Watching the delicious candy we eat every holiday being made was UNREAL! Every Christmas my sons each get a stocking full of these delicious delights so imagine our surprise when we were able to watch them make our Christmas goodies!
At the end of the tour we got the reject candy canes but even these look as good as the ones in the shop!
Definitely broke the bank in the storefront after because we stocked up for the rest of the year, the prices are super fair!

We decided to stop in on a Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, we were too late for the tour. But we were glad we stopped because they recommended we have advance reservations. So we scheduled time for the next day.

We bought some treats that were reduced in price and then came back the next day for the tour. I’d say the tour runs 20-30 minutes, beginning with a 10-minute video. Since it was a Saturday, there weren’t as many people working, but we were still able to watch a number of workers making various candies.

At the end of the tour, we received a free full-size candy cane. I don’t know if they give out the same flavor after every tour, but ours were cherry. So it’s a free tour with a free treat at the end!

The tour ends back in the gift shop. We decided to buy more treats, particularly from the “oops” section in the one corner. We also found some discounted items in the hallway between the gift shop and where the tour starts. Of course, we couldn’t leave without buying some chocolate. So, yes, it’s a free tour, but be prepared to spend some money on additional candy.

The staff were super friendly and remembered us when we came back the next day. I was impressed by their service.

As for getting there, when we first went, I thought Google maps was taking us to the wrong place, but it was correct. The building sits off the road behind several other buildings, so just watch the directions on where to turn. At least one entrance had a sign, but it was small.

There’s lots of free parking around the factory.

Enjoy the factory, but be prepared to leave with a lighter wallet and maybe a larger waistline.

Really cool place! They do tours but we couldn't fit it into our day, maybe next time. They have all kinds of sensational sweets! We hit up the truffle case, and everything we had was super yum. Although trying to get something out of said case tested our patience, service was a little lacking, and we almost bailed. At one point, everyone disappeared! Worth a try if you haven't been.
