WOW! We took our school, Adventure Montessori, here today for a field trip. We experienced an extensive food tasting trip from the garden and learned about composting. The kiddos loved it. Sophie was phenomenal and great with kids. We are blown away!

Mountain Flower Dairy is a magical place right in the heart of Boulder! Open seasonally: Visiting Hours will run every Sat from April 29th - June 30th from 10am-1pm (and then July 1, Aug 5, Sept 2, Oct 7 from 10am-1pm). They have had many kids born this spring so come on out and snuggle the babies! They host private tours for families, small groups, large groups, etc, as well as Birthday Parties!

We were so excited to feed the baby goats. When we got there, we were informed that even though the sell 12 tickets a day that there are only 9 baby goats to feed. Therefore, 3 people would not get to participate. It was a huge disappointment because that is what we paid nearly $30 per person to do. So, it felt like we were intentionally scammed because they already knew that there wasn't enough goats for each person to feed one. We did get to spend 15 min petting the baby goats, which was great. Overall, we probably won't be back.

I purchased some plants from their annual plant sale and when I returned home to plant them I discovered they were already dying with limp and yellowed leaves. I emailed them to see if I could have a replacement or credit, but received no reply. I will not be purchasing from here again.

I first took my daughters here to bottle-feed the baby goats about a year and a half ago, and had a memorable experience. Fast-forward to this fall, it was time to get some goats of our own and we turned to Mountain Flower for a pair of young wethers. These boys are the sweetest, most friendly goats I have ever interacted with, which speaks volumes about the quality of care they were given on the farm. Even if this weren't reason enough to do business with them in the future, the enthusiastic and helpful staff would be.

A little disorganized... But nice and quaint.

The owner asked to hear my reasoning regarding the "disorganization". So here I'll relate our experience...

We purchased a ticket on-line so my daughter could participate in feeding the baby goats. After parking, it wasn't particularly clear where you should assemble to receive orientation and instructions. We wondered around some buildings pursuing various signs that looked promising, regarded the tulip garden for a time and eventually made our way to a distant penned area where we could see some animals. Once there we were informed that this was where the goats were but that we needed to go "back over there" gesturing towards some of the buildings we had passed. Once "over there" it was still unclear where we needed to be. Fortunately, a women was setting up a portable table and upon inquiry we discovered that this was indeed where the tour and feeding event was to begin. Great!

The woman appeared to have a roster of those who were signed up for the feeding. We found our daughter's name on this list, and then asked the woman where might be an appropriate location to take some photographs, as the adults weren't planning in participating in the feeding, but would like the opportunity to photograph our daughter doing so. The woman's response was "It's a ticketed event..." While I'm quite sure I understand what that means, I'm at a loss to understand the relevance of that response to our question. After an uncomfortable dialog where the woman seemed irritated with our questions and reiterated three times that this was a "ticketed event" as if that explained everything. We eventually came to the understanding that in order take photographs of our daughter, we would have to purchase additional tickets and participate in the feeding and furthermore there were no longer any vacancies for this event. Bummer!

Reviewing the web site where we had originally made our reservation it wasn't at all clear to me that you would not be availed the opportunity to accompany the group and document the experience. Which is unfortunate because if we had thought it necessary we would have merely signed up all four of us.

As luck would have it, one person was a no-show, so my wife hastily purchased the newly available spot and was able to accompany our daughter. With some difficulty she was able to take some pictures while feeding the rambunctious kids and shared them with us later that day.
The goats were clearly adorable, and our daughter enjoyed the experience of feeding the hungry kids immensely.

I would have liked to have shared in the experience also, if only vicariously, so I must say our family was disappointed in that respect. If things had been more clear on the website I'm sure this disappointment could have been avoided.
