Michael is a great teacher and really understands how to meet the students at their level of learning. He has a personal connection with his horses and takes very good care of them. He makes learning fun, but also takes it seriously. You learn how to care for the horses as well and over time develop your own personal relationship with them and build confidence in your abilities and self.

I was interested in horses, but wondering how to get good experience. After being with Michael at Gentle Reins Farm, I now approach horses with much more confidence and am excited to feel more comfortable riding. He's always focused, thoughtful and attentive to what is happening with me and the horses. I've also learned about how horses interact, how to care for horses and elements of driving a team. I'm so thankful for my opportunities to be at the farm. Highest recommendations!

An AMAZING teacher. He is very patient, and understanding, and he knows exactly what each student needs. He teaches you everything from grooming and preparing to ride, to looking after the horses after the ride. He guides you around the county side all while building your confidence. No matter what age you are, you will not be disappointed.

Three of my daughters took lessons here. The proprietor is by all accounts a good teacher and very charming, but he preys on vulnerable women and girls over the age of sixteen. Not recommended.

Michael is creative and truly believes in the kids. He is experienced and skilled at reaching all different kinds of personalities. His communication is clear and encouraging. The horses are excellent, gentle, and quickly become a child's best friend. Michael is FUN and anyone will benefit greatly just from knowing him.
