Amazing family run date farm. It’s our go to date farm in the area. Fair prices and fresh dates starting in Oct-ish. They only really last a few months so don’t delay.

A friend and I were looking for some fresh dates and adecided that the best dates would probably be found in the dessert at one of the local producers.

We stopped at several date shops, but were somewhat disappointed by what was offered.
Fortunately we found by chance the Anderson Date Orchard and were more than rewarded.

I got some of the best dates I have ever had fresh from the Palm trees.

The owners are very kind and extremely friendly. They told us about the history of the orchard, which had been planted by the grandfather of the present owner nearly a hundred years ago with seedlings that he had brought from the Middle East.
It is encouraging to know when a business like this can be handed over from generation to generation and still be in family hands.

They offered us to taste dates at their different stages of ripeness which was very instructive.

We got plenty of dates and were more than happy with the purchase. I will definitely go back there and bring my friends along.

Disappointing Experience

I came by to visit the Date Farm after some friends recommended it. When we arrived, Janice, the owner, was finishing up with her last customer, who had just paid $25 for an 11-pound box of dates. As we walked closer, we overheard the price, and it seemed fair.

However, when it was our turn to pay, Janice suddenly quoted us $35 for the same box of dates and the same variety. We were shocked and confused, so we asked her why the price had gone up so much. Instead of explaining or being understanding, she got hostile and defensive. It was obvious she didn’t like that we noticed the price discrepancy.

At that point, we felt completely uncomfortable and felt like we were being gouged. We gave her the price she quoted us as we had driven a long time to get there. However I can’t trust a place where the owner behaves this way, and I definitely won’t be recommending it to anyone else. Very disappointing experience.

Was just passing by and found this place. Good thing we stopped by. What a surprise. They had a whole selection of dates to try. We ended up buying the 4 selection box. Price was also reasonable.

We went to the Indio looking for dates. My wife is from Central Asia and she loves dates. We wanted fresh dates. We found Anderson Date Farm where we met a wonderful owner who sold us four types of dates. It was a great experience. Great farm, very tasty dates, great people. We will come back again. 👍😄💕

Went last year and we did like everything about this farm. Dates are great, Price is decent, very informative in the way they produce dates and farm history, and folks there are AMAZING. Just call them couple days ago to check on their availability this season. Will definitely go back and highly recommend them for anyone who is looking for good produce and significant customer services.

Our bike club asked Janice if she would give us an overview of Anderson's family farm and the trials and tribulations of date growing. We spent a very pleasant and informative half hour learning about how much work and water it takes. Very nice folks, great dates, and good prices. Highly recommended!!
