Doubled Taxes! Excessive unreasonable, exasperating!! I am sure this will be just marvelous for some zip codes. For others well we all know that story. All we can do is make sure you vote! Then they are closing the schools!!! Unbelievable!

I attended the last mobile filing event on 4/1/24 to contest property taxes. This can be a stressful process for homeowners. Mary (I won't provide last name) was so wonderfully helpful in answering my questions and providing me guidance. I wasn't sure if I could contest with the evidence I had but feel much better that I should at least try - really it was being assured this is not such a scary process. Bonus was her explaining that I only needed to submit the simple form that day, evidence could be submitted later. I was expecting to file online but it was great filing my complaint right then and there and having this task completed for now. Thank you to the well-informed and kind staff.

I made the call at 11:35 am and I am still holding at 2:11 pm. They told me what my tax increase would be on the new home purchase...for 2024. When I received the bill it is $1400 HIGHER then quoted!!!!! I am CONTESTING but the tard land of Columbus, and all its changes, ( used to be a great place to live) these people do not answer the phone lines.

I'm eager to cast my vote. The drastic property tax hike is unprecedented, and it's unjust. Incremental increases would be reasonable, but nearly doubling it feels like covering a year's apartment rent- urgent action is needed.

Last year my taxes went up 40% and now this year they are raising them another 40%!! What am I getting for that increase?!? I have busted up curbs in front of my house the city won't replace. I'd love to get a 40% increase! Sickening!!!

Stop increasing my property tax! I bought my house in December 2018 for $124,000. The property tax was $2800. Now it’s $4600! I haven’t done anything to my house that would make it increase that much. I pay $1600 to Franklin Township, they’re worthless. If you wanna build something or change something about your house, you gotta go through Franklin County to get the permits. THEN, $1900 goes to Southwestern city schools. I don’t even have kids nor can I have any children. I shouldn’t even be obligated to pay that. Franklin county, one of the worst counties to purchase a home in!

It would be great if when payment for property taxes payments are submitted online they are applied to the correct parcel. And yes, I filled a compliant TWICE. BUT the people that I am complaining to are playing the blame game. Too bad they blamed their outdated IT software instead of correcting the system error. I guess they do need the money to update their system.
