Fort Payne stock yard prices are terrible. They only have four or five buyers and they get together on what each one needs to buy that week. So when your cattle come through ring they might get three or four bids. The market report they post every week is total false on what cattle are selling for. The top price on the report only one or two out of all the calves in that weight range will bring that. I have used other markets across the state and get a truer to their market report than I do in Fort Payne. If all the smaller cattle producer would get together and get a larger stock trailer load and haul them out west you would make more money for same animal
