Winery Review: Disappointing Experience

Unfortunately, my visit to this winery was a letdown from start to finish. The tasting room was housed in what appeared to be a run-down old barn, with minimal attention to cleanliness or atmosphere. We attempted to sit outside, but the lawn chairs were filthy and covered in cobwebs, making that impossible.

Wine was poured directly from old barn tiles—an unsanitary and off-putting presentation. The wines themselves were deeply tannic, rust-colored, and tasted unpleasantly like rotting fruit. When I politely inquired about the strange color and taste, the owner, an elderly man with a rather dull demeanor, defensively insisted the color was "just from the grapes."

Even after we walked away without finishing the tasting due to the poor quality, he still charged us the full fee, which felt more like a transaction than any sort of hospitality. This was not the warm, inviting winery experience we were hoping for. I cannot recommend this place.

Spent the night there in our rv. This is an organic winery. Christine and Dean were very nice. The winery only make red wines. No white wines. This property is organic so it’s not manicured like the mega wineries. This is a “mom & pop” business. There is a small area to enjoy your purchases sitting in lawn chairs. There are mature trees all around. In the early morning, there are hot air balloons launched from nearby. Beautiful!

Wow... I'm no wine connoisseur but is red wine ever supposed to be brown? And sour?

I enjoyed the laid back and casual atmosphere of this winery, but sadly had to throw out the $40(!) bottle of wine I had bought because it was just undrinkable.

I really wanted to love this little rustic winery. The ambiance was cute located off the path in an old rustic barn. But the wine was not drinkable. It tasted old like vinegar. My husband kept going outside to spill it out because it tasted like vinegar. With so many great wineries you really shouldn't be serving old wine. I should have said something there but I was a little shocked and embarrassed and kept hoping the next pour would be better. Will not be returning.

The Foot Path Winery is absolutely unique. This is not at all what people usually expect from wineries, such as beautiful wrapper, fancy wine pods and smiling girls pouring wine into your glasses. This is a small private winery, where the owner Deane himself makes the wine. Therefore I really enjoyed this place. So I highly recommend this place in order to get authentic experience and to try the full-bodied, delicious and balanced wine!

Great winery when we were members of 10 plus wineries this was one of our favorite's, unpretentious, comfortable, and the wine was great. We were members for seven plus years until we moved out of the state for work, that was when it was called foot print. Very gracious owners super friendly and at the time there kids helped harvest the grapes we have great memories of this winery.

In an area filled with massive resort style wineries that are overpriced for average wine there sits a small family owned winery. Nothing flashy or sophisticated but if your main goal is to taste great wine for a good price look no further. Our favorite type of tastings are ones where we get to taste the wine with the winemaker/owner!
This was my boyfriend's fav winery during our weekend stay in the area and it was my 2nd fav. We walked away happy and with a bottle to enjoy at home.

My fiance and I walked up to the barn as it said it was open at 10am. We are early risers and wanted to get a good start on the day. We were excited to feel the small town vibe of this winery and we're hopeful of the experience. We were unfortunately very let down. We walked in the barn and it reeked of cigarettes, there was a black cat eating his food in the barn and trying to rub on our legs while we were tasting. The owner was the old farmer type that had zero regard for hygiene or cleanliness. There were fruit flies in the very first pour and his solution was to pour it out and pour another glass without rinsing the glass. All the wines appear to have been sitting on the counter with a towel over them to prevent the flies so this is obviously a known issue. The wines were gross, all of them were brown and seemed to have turned while sitting in the barn. Will never return to this establishment. I advise you avoid this place unless there is a change in ownership.
