I performed here! I'm a freelance musician, or a busker. I perform at many Farmer's Markets around the area. This was my first appearance at this one. Very small, by comparison, but very energetic. Met some wonderful locals there, as well.

Oh my god I walked all the way out to this place thinking it was going to be hearty and fulfilling like the farmers market at the Civic Center but wow no. I'll tell you what was huge though.... the waste of my time which I'll never get back but at least I can say that I've been there though and can give my honest opinion which is this..It would be totally worth it if you waited a day or two to make it to the heart of San Francisco Farmers market that goes at the Civic center because there are way more stands more variety the produce doesn't look like it's bottom of the barrel off the floor pick if you know what I mean which is what I experienced at the Fillmore Farmers market anyway I don't want to speak bad about them they're just trying to make an honest but that's my opinion maybe it's not humble but it is my own.

There's a little bit of everything for everyone. From fresh eggs to smoked salmon. If you're lucky, you'll come on a day when they have live music. The vendors are all nice and helpful. The best time to come is spring and summer when fruits and veggies are bountiful.

Love Fillmore F.M...we visit every Saturday. The berry guy (strawberry blackberries & raspberries) has the best ever! Seriously..they're amazingly sweet- consistent too. All around great little market with super fresh hi quality fruits & veggies, flowers and a few baked goodies (check out the mini fruit pies like lemon cheesecake, cherry berry or pecan and try not to eat it all b4 you get home)? Cheers?

One of the few markets with pretty much no organic produce, and therefore prices are generally lower, which in my view, isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I think farmer's market as a place that offers fresh local produce, not strictly organic.

Easily accessible by public transit and near Japantown, this market is conveniently located, but if you only buy organic, this market may not be the best choice.

I like to think of buying local produce as a way to support local farmers, where you get to know the people from whom you buy.

Small but well furnished Farmer's market. There are normally a couple of veggie stands, one for berries, one for fish, one for pies and one with naan and curry sauces.
You can park your car in Safeway's parking lot or take the 22, it stops right in front of the market.

This is a great medium-size farmers market with a variety of produce and food venders, including baked goods, Indian food, and the newly-joined pupusas. They also have a live jazz band starting around 10:30/11am in the adjoining area with plenty of room for kids to run around and dance. Wise Sons bagel shop (tasty but way overpriced), Boba Guys, and Starbucks are across and street and next door to the market as well.
