The customer service at this nursery is very disappointing. Save yourself the brain damage and go somewhere else. I came down to the nursery and hand picked the plants that were supposed be in my yard, because I was looking for healthy thriving plants. While checking out the cashier told us that delivery was 4-5 weeks out. She then told us the date and I put it on my calendar. The date she set was actually a month later. Come delivery day, they bring some rinky dink plants completely different size than the one I personally tagged. Frustrated by the whole process I call and the manager had the worst customer service. She charged me an extra $20 because the cashier charged me for the wrong plant. I personally think that they should have just brought the correct plants. But I paid the $20. The way the manager spoke to me was so ridiculous. She wouldn't let me talk. Talked over me. Raised her voice. She said they have young girls working the front and it's my fault for not looking at the invoice. I'm sorry, what! She then said that I should shop elsewhere in the future. She acted like she was doing me a favor by bringing the correct plant after waiting forever for them. I definitely wouldn't want this lady in front of my customers. She is a hot headed loose cannon that frustrated the situation 100% more than it needed to be. They finally bring the right vine and they looked like a shell of what it was when I picked it. They did not look even close to how they did when I picked them out. Only 1 flower on both vines. When I picked them they had hundreds of flowers. Either they don't care for the plants after you pick them or she switched my tag to the worst looking ones she could find and by the way she acted on the phone I could totally see her doing this. I also feel like my trees I picked look less healthy after it taking 2 months to be delivered. I got some stuff at Home Depot and their vines looked way better than the ones they brought, which is sad for a nursery.

This nursery is HUGE and adorned with so many beautiful shrubs and trees. This was my second visit to this nursery today, and I bought a 15 gal. Plumcot and a 15 gal. Florida Mandarin for $150 each. This was a steal of a deal. At other nurseries, these trees would have been between $300-$500. The trees that I bought today are more than 6 feet tall and had not been pruned at all! This is great because most nurseries over prune citrus and cut off the central leader and ruin the perfect design of citrus. This nursery actually knows what they are doing! The staff at this nursery is very knowledgeable and consultative. The last time I visited this nursery, I talked to a former farmer who works there, and he provided excellent advice on a citrus tree that I bought from another nursery. The staff quickly acknowledges you when you're ready to check out and helps to load your heavy items into the vehicle and provides a good amount of packing materials. I will continue to visit this nursery a lot in the future, especially in the upcoming spring time due to their reasonable prices, high-quality trees, and helpful staff. Thank you, Desert Horizon Nursery, for another great experience! You are 9 miles from my house, but worth the extra drive! Your nursery is my new go-to place for everything green!

Avoid Desert Horizon Nursery. No Warranty, No Accountability.

I used to go to Desert Horizon Nursery & they were wonderful. I had a very disappointing experience with Desert Horizon just recently & will no longer be purchasing from them. I want to warn others before they waste their money here. I purchased several plants, only to find out that they said they no longer accept plant returns after purchase.

Upon purchasing the plants I stated that I may need to return my plants if they didn’t fit in the proper space. They assured me I would be able to.

I took the plants home & one showed great stress & died within 24 hours. I hadn’t planted this yet. It just died. I took these plants back to the nursery within just a few days of bringing my plants home & when I arrived at the nursery, I was told they don't stand behind their products right after purchase. They refunded 1 plant but would not refund the other plant even though they were not planted.

While I was there it was right before close & all the employees were rude & gossiping about my situation as if I was wrong for returning plants I didn’t plant & that died.

I was essentially out of luck! I am grateful for the 1 plant refund but as I logged into do a review I found it interesting that others have been reviewing similar instances. It feels like they’re happy to take your money but have no interest in ensuring their plants thrive once they leave the store. That’s completely unacceptable for plants that can take time to show signs of stress or disease.

A quality plant nursery should be confident enough in the health of their products to offer a reasonable guarantee at least a couple of weeks, if not longer. It truly is unfortunate that Desert Horizon isn't willing to take any responsibility. I’ve never encountered such a limited policy at other nurseries, and I won’t be coming back.

If you're looking for healthy plants & a company that stands behind their products, I recommend going elsewhere.

My stepdaughter bought a f
2 pots, a 6.99 bag of soil, and a small plant for $54.99. It seemed a little expensive to me, but she was happy with her purchase. But outside of the purchase, this place is gorgeous. I've seen it many times heading to my sisters place and always wondered what kind of stuff was in there. PLANTS, PLANTS,... some pots and PLANTS, lol. They clearly care and maintain the grounds along with the plants exceptionally well, and while it was hot as Hell outside too but they had a great mister system and lots of shade. We'll probably come back again but will be more wary of the prices and Queen Creek sale taxes.

Bogus advice.

Bought 10 green hop seeds a year ago here. They were doing ok. Turning a bit yellow. I went in to ask how to get them back to green. The short bearded guy definitively said too much water and said to water less. I asked - if we do this for 2 to 3 weeks and they actually needed more water, it won’t kill them, right?”. He said certainly not.

3 weeks later 7 of the ten are dead or almost dead. When giving advice, the people that work there need to be careful. The hop seeds were $99 each, so this is a $700 mistake.

It’s against their policy, but if they give bogus advice like this, they should provide replacement or discounted plants. AND you go here in the first place instead of Home Depot and pay a premium for their selection and knowledge. I wouldn’t recommend trusting what they say here - their advice is all over the place too.
