I am concerned about the forestry service and how they treat Colorado. I'm am a Colorado native and was raised to respect Colorado. I'm writing this review because one of my favorite trails in woodland Park has been closed. My family and I have been hiking there for almost 4 decades and not once have I ever seen trash there or any reason to close the trail. It was one of the most beautiful gems in the state. Beautiful pine and aspens. Thousands of columbine flowers during parts of the year( the state flower). Raspberries and strawberries everywhere. Deer, elk, moose, bear, coyotes, foxes, turkey, grouse and much more. The area is one of the most diverse in Colorado.

Now it is a dead forest, devoid of any life. The forestry service went in there and instead of just closing the trail, they cut every tree, to cover the trail. There's erosion everywhere and the food for the animals and the ecosystem, GONE!!.........WHY

GOOGLE REMOVED THE PICTURES I POSTED. I GUESS THEY WOULD RATHER PEOPLE NOT TELL THE TRUTH. THEIR ETHICS ARE SIMILAR TO THEIR DRIVING DIRECTIONS.

I opted to take advantage of the annual forest service seedling program this year. I placed my order and it was ready on the project date. The team at this branch were very easy to work with. They kept me in the loop as the order was received, process, and ready for delivery. I needed to pick these up later on a weekday and they made sure they were ready to go when I arrived. Very pleased with the order, staff, and program. Thanks for making this available!

We just went to Paradise Cove near Guffy and I want to compliment the Forest Service for their kind effort in putting the porta potty in the parking area. We are 65 and were the oldest in the area the day we went and we found the entire experience a delight. The people were are very respectful of others and the environment. It was an experience we won't soon forget and we were awed by the beauty.

On a negative note though. Two items. We camped in North 717 5 miles North of Divide. The porta potty was only in that area for a short time and people had left their campers in the prime spots (unattended) in preparation for the Labor Day weekend. We camp there a lot and in one spot two 5th wheels have been in the same spot the entire summer. That is not fair to the poor guy getting off work on Friday afternoon and playing by the rules.

This is the Colorado State Forest Service NOT the US forest service. If you are.looking to purchase US forest service park passes (national park passes, Disabled veterans passes etc) this office can not help you. You have to drive back down to Colorado Springs Colorado to the PIKE National Forest office located on S. Webber.
