The boutique winery is great but the star is Nora's Kitchen. If you're in the area and looking for authentic and fresh Mexican estás de suerte (you're in luck).

I visited Borjon Winery for the first time, and it was lovely. They have delicious Mexican food and a wonderful selection of red wines. They are the only Mexican family owned winery in Amador and are known for their Barberas. I really liked the atmosphere and decor. It feels comfortable yet classy in their ranchero style buildings with modern interiors.

We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to accommodate us for a tasting. I tried the Selección flight and really enjoyed the Barbera Selección. The tasting was outside and was really fun and relaxing on a sunny spring day. The staff were wonderful and friendly. They were knowledgeable and helpful. We'll definitely come back again!

The place is charming.
Red wines ? (barbera, zin, syrah) are the house specialty.
They have three different tasting level at 5, 10 or 15 dollars, including wines in the 25, 35, or 100 price respectively.
The barbera and syrah we had with the "selection flight" (10$) were very good!
The bubbly zin rosé was a lovely surprise!
We came too late but I think their is a tiny Mexican restaurant on site too as a bonus.

The once amazing (original) Nora’s Kitchen is no longer. Big disappointment today. The restaurant is now under same management/operations of winery and it’s just a tick above Little League Snack Shack. Need to find another winery with decent food. Other than that the people and wine are incredible.

Shelbi Beck took care of us. Excellent Job! Most of the wines were decent. Of course I bought several bottles! Would I go back? DEFINITELY. Thanks Shelbi for a nice experience.

*Edit* After being here a second time I was greeted by their tasting manager who was very kind. The wine is amazing and they experience was lovely. I will definitely keep my membership.

First time picking up an order as a wine club member. The indoor area is nicely decorated. But that is the only thing I found nice about the experience.
First of all I got an email saying that they would make an exception and “allow” me to pick up my case of wine instead of shipping it because they only have so much space to hold it. So, once I got there I figured the case was ready. I was wrong. When I got there I was the only one at the counter (the patio was all empty). I was “greeted” by one girl at the counter and two others in the office. While the one girl gathered my 12 bottle order the other remained in the office on her cell. I was not offered anything as I waited. Once the order was ready I was handed the large case and not offered any help to my car. They couldn’t even get the door and only offered to close it on my way out.
I’m not sure how they thank others for being a member of the highest tier of there wine club but I hope it’s a better welcome than I received. The discount is nice and I do hope I enjoy their wine because otherwise I will not be continuing my membership when I get treated much better at Scott Harvey’s or Tera D’Oro.

As we entered the winery we had high expectations. Google reviews were spectacular and mine and my wife's hopes were high. We walked in and were greeted with a scowl. The person attending the tasting room that "greeted" us was beyond annoyed. As we stood at the end of the bar looking confused as the other eight patrons tasted their wine, we were left staring at the tasting menu. When the tasting attendant finally walked over, she informed us that we could not taste and walked away. When she came back over several minutes later she told us she would get us a glass menu. Mind you, there were several tasting attendants pouring wine and she was not busy. When she dropped the menus off she gave zero explanation and didn't seem to care about the winery or any of the wines. After she felt like serving us, we decided on two wines we were confused on the rave reviews of the winery. While the wine was okay, it was not to the high standards this winery sets for itself. Overall, between the service and the wine, this is a below average winery for the area.
