I never write bad reviews but my experience with my Bluestar range has compelled me to warn others to stay clear of them. I have owned my range for 4 years and have needed to have it serviced at least 6 times and that doesn't include the times that we are just too exhausted to call them again to repair it. It has as serious igniter issue where essentially every 3-4 months the igniter stops working and our oven is rendered useless. The only way to get it to warm up is to turn on the broiler, wait for it to eventually turn on (which is very dangerous because it will always 'blow' when the gas comes on and the door will pop open from it), if it does at all, to override the system and get the igniter to ignite. This works erratically so generally I just can't use the oven. The igniter has been been replaced no less than 3 times in this short period of time. And I've had the stovetop burners replaced too. Every time I call customer service it takes MONTHS for them to send a repair person and that is only after I call week after week. They always say they are looking into it and will get back to me but I always need to call them back for an update. It's like a second job keeping on top of this issue. At this point, after having the same issue for years, I have asked for a refund for a faulty range but they keep delaying and saying they need to check with their technicians. Even the repair person has said the igniter issue is a common problem. Bluestar needs to stand behind their products and refund me for a defective range.

Got a warranty notice at the end of February stating that our stove needs a replacement part, until then use of the oven is not recommended. Part was sent a week later and a notice that a service technician will reach out. A company located 500km away reached out on March 7 with the following: "I will get back to you early next week. Need to speak to our service tech." Since then, nothing. I emailed, called and submitted tickets.

A month later I received a very rude call from the owner of the service company. He did not introduce himself and instead told me "I must not want to get my stove repaired" and claiming someone was already sent to my address. This is not the case. It was really incredible how condescending and rude the call was, I wish I recorded it at the time.

Now it's two months later and we still can't use our oven. Nothing from their service company, which is not even local to our area. What a joke for a supposed premium semi-professional appliance. Never buy Made in USA, you will regret it. I am just hoping our stove will not catch fire in the meantime.

We purchased a $10,000 Blue Star gas range with oven. Within the first 6 years it started making explosion noises when using the oven. We contacted BlueStar who denied warranty. We paid an additional $1,200 for a part to repair it. The ranges started making the noise again 1.5 years later. When we contacted Blue Star they stated that the part only had a 6 month warranty. For the money, I would not purchase a Blue Star again. Totally disappointing value for money.

I had my new 48 inch 8 burner Blue Star stove installed the end of November of 2024. The large oven decided to quit working in the middle of making my Christmas Eve meal. It had been used less than a dozen times. To date, the problem has not been fixed and apparently the part is back ordered. I have now been without my large oven, which has the broiler and convection in it for 2 months with no end in sight. Having just the small oven really limits what I can make. Definitely not impressed with this company.

I bought a very nice and expensive blue star range top with a 24 inch griddle. It was awesome. Then the left side of the griddle top stopped heating. After a brief examination of it, the ignitor was noticed to not be working. As a brief aside, one of the reasons I bought this product was its simplicity, no mother boards or complex electronics, if a part stops working, you order a replacement and with not much more than a wrench and a screwdriver you can install the part and fix your own range.
The part arrived and had the wrong connectors for my range. I called BlueStar and they sent me another part (for free), this part also had the wrong connections. I called, gave them the serial number for my range top. They sent another part, also the wrong connections. I called. They said they would have a technician call me by the end of the day or the next business day. No-one called. I called. Their rep let me know they don't make the part for my 4 year old range top. The solution is to cut the connectors off both my range and the new part and spice the wires together. I asked if they would guarantee there are no fire risks to this process, to which I pointed out I am not an electrician. They said if I had concerns that I should have a service tech come do it ($150 to show up plus $150/hour for work). I asked if they would pay for it, they said "no". All this has left me very disappointed in this company and its commitment to its customers.
Be wary if you plan on doing service yourself, they may not have the parts and the solution may be to do a work around on a almost $10,000 product.
Be wary

I have had nothing but problems with my double wall oven. The bottom door kept dropping and about 5 doors later they finally replaced the latches. Stone and probe have errors and the oven takes 30 minutes to heat up. For the amount of money that I paid, it should be an excellent oven but it is not. Far from excellent. I would not recommend blue star.

Almost from the day my 2 wall gad wall ovens installed around five years ago, I’ve had nothing but problems with both of them. First problem, the ovens would not heat up to the set temperature. Blue star was very good about following up with a service call. They determined that the internal thermometer in the ovens needed to be shielded because they were heating up but never reaching the desired temperature. They designed and installed a shield for the internal thermometer but this really did not work. I would call service again. They were very good about sending somebody to check our the problem which they acknowledged but nothing was ever fixed. Finally, they told me to have the gas line checked which I did and the gas lines were fine then they told me to have the electric line checked which I did and they were fine but the oven still did not work properly. By not working properly, I mean, I could not use the two ovens at the same time if the temperature was set over 350° if I wanted an oven to heat up to 400° I had to set it to 450°. When this was reported to Blue star, they changed the thermostats on the ovens again but this made no difference. They still did not work properly. They were extremely good about sending repair people for which I never charged but they could not fix the ovens. When I said to them why don’t I return the ovens and you test them in your factory and see if they can be repaired. If not you would then replace them and that I would be willing to pay something towards that replacement because I have had the ovens for a number of years. They then sent another repair person who determined that my complaints were justified and that the ovens could NOT be repaired. They said they would get back to me. I would call again and they said they would discuss it and then get back to me get back to me which they never did. I would ask for the head of the customer service and he said they would get back to me, which they never did. As far far as speaking to anyone at Blue Star corporate headquarters I couldn’t even find their phone number. The phone number on their web site does not include an option for corporate headquarters. They are certainly willing to send repair personnel but if they can’t fix the problem they are not willing to really address the issue with the customer.

Had a 60" for 10 years and loved it. Have had a 48" for 5 years and it's worked all at one time, maybe 2 years in total (big oven wouldn't work, then the small one, and as of today the cooktop won't light - doesn't even click.). Haven't been able to bake since November - Company is not responsive. Reps and distributor basically said I'm on my own. Never ever again.
