Experts at making great Belgian brews and their IPA’s are really good also. Bartenders are always friendly. They have a half off happy hour on Fridays from 4-7. What a deal!! Really nice outdoor seating as well. Highly recommended!

Stopped in on a visit to Erie. Very cool place with a super variety of beers. Honestly the best triple Belgium I have ever tasted. Dog friendly too boot! Will definitely be coming back.

I’ve been twice—once in the winter and once in the summer. I’m not sure how often I’ll visit in colder weather since the outdoor seating area is a huge draw for me. The yard is set up nicely with covered tables, torches and cafe lighting, a fireplace and an area for games like cornhole. It’s a nice area to relax and enjoy your beer.
The inside isn’t as welcoming and tends to get loud and overcrowded. It’s a small space and I’m sure they’re working with what they have as best possible, but I couldn’t see myself staying for more than one quick drink inside.
The brewery is dog friendly, both inside and out. They even have a couple water bowls conveniently placed for visiting pups. On both of my visits, there were dogs at the brewery.
Although the brewery doesn’t serve food, they do have complimentary popcorn available and food trucks are often there to provide a meal.
They have an extensive beer list, which is really nice. I’m a big IPA fan and during my last visit there were at least 4 on tap. Nothing is more disappointing than finding only one IPA on the list and disliking it. With so many options at Black Monk, I had no problem finding one that I liked. In fact, I liked 3 of the 4 that I tasted.
Overall, it’s a good brewery and well worth a visit.

Unique and not a mega Brewery. Classy electic acoustic talented solo act entertained patrons outside on a beautiful summer night. OH YEAH...THE BEER CHOICES ARE OUTSTANDING.Why aren't you there yet!

We ended up here on a rainy afternoon after exploring the areas beaches and parks. Most important to us was being dog friendly inside on this rainy day. Nice, low key friendly brewery. No food, but plenty of local eateries to order from or BYO. Sometimes food trucks. An excellent selection of beers. I had the amber ale and bought a variety pack to go. All excellent!

Great beer and dog friendly, need I say more?! But I will... Black Monk Brewery has a very nice vibe to it, quiet and friendly where you can actually have a conversation and not feel rushed. It is very clean and it seems that at least one owner, if not both owners, is always there, showing great pride in their establishment. Love hanging out here!

Update, clearly someone has something against this establishment because 1-star reviews with obvious fake names and no explanations are popping up like crazy. This is so upsetting to see as coming from a fellow small business owner, reviews are so crucial to local businesses. I hope that people do not consider these suspicious reviews when deciding whether or not to visit Black Monk. It really is a great place, come find out for yourself!
