Nice store with good selection, but laid out a little weird and kinda small. There is no gas station associated with this location so you either have to go to the Boston rd or Cooley st locations nearby. Good luck out there!

Definitely not ADA Compliant! I am the first one to give a great review when deserved. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in Fresh Acres. I do not go there often so when I do, I enjoy shopping all their gourmet goodies and looking at the array of unique products. Yesterday being there, brought me to tears. I have had several back surgeries so depending on the day my back pain can be painful or very painful. Yesterday, it was very, very painful so I used one of the motorized carts and I am truly appreciative of stores that offer them. Maybe it was the social distancing that amplified this but there were certain areas of the store that made it impossible to get through due to the sales displays in the isles. I highly doubt that management of this grocery store or any others take a ride in one of these carts to experience what shopping is like in their store using one. There were at least two areas in the store that made turning impossible. Between the end cap sales displays and the displays in the middle of the isles I knocked over a total of three displays during my visit. This is embarrassing and aggravating as I have to get out of the cart and bend over stressing my back to pick everything up. As it stands now, I will not be going back until they are ADA compliant and I will be calling the general manager today. In doing my research, here is what I found regarding the guidelines in grocery stores and being ADA compliant. "Grocery Aisles. Failing to provide wide enough walkways between shelving units can put a retailer in danger of noncompliance with the ADA. A minimum width of 36 inches is required. If the aisle is more than 200 feet long, a passing space of at least 60 inches by 60 inches must be provided" I know they were not compliant in a few areas for sure.

The butcher that worked today 12/3 around noon time was outstanding. He took the time to assist me and my 17month old son with our selections. He walked with us from chicken, to beef, and then fish selections; using sanitary and food safety skills with each exchange and was spot on in his calculations.
Ive had good and poor experiences with this store, however lately the good has been tipping the scale. Keep up the great work we love the local, small town feel!

I've been coming to this big y for a few weeks now because my daughters camp is close by so I frequently buy things and go to self checkout. Ive noticed the cashiers watching me each time as if im stealing which im not. I get food stamps so it would be silly of me to steal when im not even paying for them to begin with. Everytime I go there a cashier no matter where there standing comes and stands next to me without fail no matter how many other people are at self checkout. I caught the cashier leaning over and looking inside my bag today. This is ridiculous. Between here and walmart im constantly followed and checked in on as a Black woman I find this to be frustrating and half the time im with my daughter so what would I be teaching her if im stealing? It hurts all of us. I already knew this company was racist to begin with but im tired of being treated as less than a person. And if you guys think im stealing because im rushing in and out the store I have to catch the bus to go home so thats why im rushing and ive been in retail since I was 18 your store Manager used to be my boss at Stop and Shop so im pretty sure I know the in and outs of a grocery store. If you don't believe me you can check the security footage of your employee looking inside my bag.

Update: Wilbraham Big Y has a bald tall manager who watches customer to a point of uncomfort. Don't judge a book by its cover, they may be more than they appear.

*Recent changes brought a visible dip in food quality. Self Checkout is great but the folks act more like security then customer service associates, the folks on the other end of the camera handle the security part, one would assume?

Good food, nice people, and tea selection, but prices could be better.
