Walking into this place I immediately fell in love. You could just SMELL that it was delectable ice cream the minute you opened the second door to enter! The atmosphere is LOVELY. Very warm lighting makes it home-y and the menu is full of wonderful flavors! Some in our group had different scoops of different flavors because they were that good. I had the Alaska Wild Berry and I loved it! The staff was VERY friendly! They even ran out of the waffle cone bowls and they DOD. NOT. HESITATE. to make some for us! I just adore the decor. If we lived here, I would definitely visit often but we are from Louisiana. They most CERTAINLY have our vote though!

Stopped in with some of my coworkers. There was a flavor for everyone, including dairy free preferences! My order, the affogato was my fav (espresso over ice cream). It was the best part of my day! They have punch cards too so, don’t forget to get yours.

I am BLOWN AWAY by how good their ice cream is. All local, homemade and well worth every penny. I got the Alaska Wild Berry (a bit bitter but so delicious) and my bf got the Colony Caramel Crunch. I will say mine was delicious, but his was damn near other-worldly. So delicious, such a friendly staff, will definitely be back if I’m going through Palmer!

Everything was great about this place. Staff were friendly and the homemade ice cream and waffle cones were delicious. Loved the Fireweed and Honey. My husband didn’t have ice cream but he did have a Carmel / Vanilla Latte that was probably the best that I have ever had. We were only in Palmer for a week and went two times. If we could we would’ve went every night.

When you walk in you can smell the fresh made waffle cones and they were the best I have ever had. The ice cream was so good. I had the Alaska Wild Berry and my wife had the Reese’s Peanut Butter Blast. Both were delicious and really hit the spot.

We are from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, home of Dave & Andy's Homemade Ice Creamery; Dave and Andy's have received many national and international awards along the years for their creamy delicious treats. I truly never thought I would be able to taste anything like their ice cream until I had a taste of Big Dipper's! THEY ARE FABULOUS!!! Very creamy, silky and smooth - the way an ice cream should be! I am particularly addicted to their "Chocolate Silk" and "Bearly Awake" flavors. If you are in Alaska, stop by and get your cone!! You will taste a piece of heaven itself!!! Congrats to the Big Dipper team for producing such high quality, delicious home made ice cream!!!

Big Dipper is without a doubt our favorite ice cream spot in the state of Alaska!

They are always coming up with different flavors and the staff is always awesome and welcoming (even when the line is out the door after soccer)
