Sellers, save yourself some time and money! We recently went for the first and last time. Being new, I called ahead and asked several questions before checking in, including about a reserve price since we had an unusual breed of chickens. Were told that we didn't have to take the high bid if we weren't happy. Turns out, you have to buy back your own animal or pay a fee if you don't like the bid. We had multiple bidders and the price was going up, then the auctioneer failed to see another bidder. People in the crowd pointed out that he missed a bidder, but instead of continuing with the bidding, he let everyone take what they wanted at the price he stopped at. No apology, just went on to the next lot. Then had the nerve to take their 25% commission. We could have both made more money if he hadn't stopped the bidding. We drove an hour each way to be ripped off.
Won't go again and will be letting the folks at my feed store that recommended this place know what happened.
They also give zero info about the animals, I had healthy pullets nearly laying age of a breed that lays 300+ eggs/year. It would have been nice to take 10 seconds to say that.
Seemed like they were in a big hurry to get through the small animal auction so they could sell their own cheap, Chinese plastic junk and outdated food items.

Good turnout the times I visited, though a cramped auction area can make it difficult if you do not arrive early. Mountainous region can be difficult to navigate in the winter, but even during those slower months, plenty of good looking livestock pass through.

Usually easy going. You never know what's there till you go. Some nights are better than others. Keep in mind not everyone is honest about the animals in their care either.

poor place, half dead animals no heat when there is its fumes. barn is poor condition could possibly fall through the board walk. The refuse for anyone to physical look at the animals in the pens. They pick and choose their favorites allowed to do what they want.

Dress in layers, it can get really cold. Bathrooms are in very poor condition outhouse types (it is an old barn). Give a quarantine time on the animals before adding to your herd. Diseases and illness can spread easily and people sell alot of sick animals. Check dates on food. Things do go cheap! It is an auction, you never know what you will get. Some things are good but you need to know what to look for. This is a very cheap auction that helps alot of low income families in the area. It does alot of good and if you know what you are looking for/at then you can get lots of terrific deals.

*Not handicap friendly * lots of stairs/steps, seats are stairs unless you take a chair. * big live stock sales is up stairs* Food upstairs is cheap but good. Try the pies or home made candy.

Its clean the people are nice they have a nice selection of animals for sale produce misalanious items and meats when the meat man comes small sale down stairs 6pm large animal sale upstairs 7pm
