The blood orange lager is one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Service is always great, there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the food menu is A+, and located within walking distance to Polar Park, Crompton Collective, etc. They are attached to the ice rink so use their private parking lot, or park on a surrounding street. Truly a gem of Worcester.

Disappointing Visit - Great Beer, Subpar Food

I've been to Bay State Brewing before and had a great experience with beers and appetizers, which makes this recent visit particularly disappointing. While the milk stout was excellent, the food quality was unfortunately well below acceptable standards.

Our party of five ordered various dishes, and nearly every item had significant issues:
- Mac and cheese was watery and barely edible (my daughter only managed two bites)
- The "shareable" pretzel was hard and stale rather than soft and fresh. We seriously had to saw it with a serrated knife!
- Two burgers were overcooked and flavorless (they didn't ask for cooking preference). My daughter volunteered pink, but the only pink on that plate was the ketchup!
- Nachos were stale and tasteless
- Onion rings were greasy and rubbery
- French fries were soggy and seemed old
We asked for Coke's and received Pepsi's. You need to warn people about that, we don't like Pepsi (and yes, we were charged). They were out of lemonade.

The service was friendly and attentive, but there was no acknowledgment of the obviously uneaten food or any attempt to address the quality issues. When someone only takes two bites of their meal, it usually prompts at least a question about whether everything is okay.

For a $120 bill, (and only one alcoholic beverage in there!) the food quality was unacceptable. While the beer selection remains solid, I cannot recommend this place for dining based on this experience. I hope this was just an off day for the kitchen, given my previous positive experience, but I won't be returning to find out.

Positives:
+ Good beer selection
+ Friendly service
+ Lots of parking

Negatives:
- Poor food quality across multiple (all) dishes
- Overcooked/improperly prepared items
- Stale/old-tasting ingredients
- Staff didn't notice the majority of the food was untouched
- $$$ for the quality received

Apologies I didn't snap any photos!

This beer absolutely hits the spot. The Madam Rhubarb comes as advertised and is flawless. The King Midas Golden stout is also exceptional. Unfortunately, the lunchtime rush hurts the overall experience as there is only 1 bartender slinging drinks for this full bar on a Sunday.

My husband and I went last week before a WooSox game. The place was crowded but we got one of the last tables. There was good live music but it was a little too loud for trying to have a any kind of conversation, and that was at the farthest corner away from the sound. Service with quick and friendly. The beers were decent and so was the food. I wasn't blown away or anything but I would go back and try more beer and more menu items. All-in-all I would rate this place a solid choice for a night out or at least a stop in your night!

Great place to get a liter of beer and food while watching at the rink watching your kids play. Good variety of traditional German style draft beer along with some good IPA's and sours. The food is pretty good as well. The pretzel is a great appetizer to share with group of friends. Had Oktoberfest special menu along with regular pub menu. The curry sausage was well done. The chicken wings are pretty good as well.

I wanted to love this place, but the beer was just okay- none of the IPAs stood out to me. Our bartender was great, but the food was so-so. The vibe was fun and sport centric. I still had a good time, might give it another chance.

Mixed reviews today... 40+ mins for a pizza that they still messed up. They gave mine to someone else or made it wrong (twice) 20 mins after my wife got her dinner. I complained, and they took it off the bill, but still. My wife loved her charcuterie board as always, with the exception of the hard as a rock piece of bread. A disappointment just the same as the pizza delivery people looked clueless. It was tough to get the bartender to pay attention to us at the bar. None of my regular beers were on tap either and had to buy the cans.

The best brewery in Worcester! Can't get enough of the blood orange beer or Kelley likes the smell. Located in the bottom floor of the ice rink. Order the chicken wings or pizza, actually order both because they are phenomenal! The kitchen here cranks out some seriously delicious food. Only regulars know the stairs lead to the upstairs room that overlooks the ice rink! Make sure you check it out next time you’re there.
