We are new horse owners, and recently purchased two horses this year. Dr. Wilson and her team have been fantastic with helping us learn what we can do right for our horses - especially when one of them is difficult to get into the trailer, and they were able to make farm calls for x-rays.

The front desk team is always friendly and upbeat when calling or when we come in, and we appreciate the calls to follow up on how the horses are doing after any procedures they have.

When we had GI Issues prior to castration with our colt, the team was great at communicating the plan, estimated cost, and the goals to meet prior to castration to help us feel confident as we had never been through a horse castration before.

We are very grateful for Arctic Equine and the support they provided us as new horse owners, and for our two horses to get them to their best selves.

I love Dr. Neu! She's honest and genuinely cares about the animals she treats. She is knowledgable and gentle, has a great bedside manner, and won't make you spend unnecessary money - you can trust her to take care of your animal AND you.

My personal example of why Arctic Equine is the best equine veterinary service in Alaska:

My horse experienced a choke several days ago. I was forced to use the other vet in the valley because the incident happened to coincide with Dr. Neu being out of town for a few days - and I was ripped off by the other vet! I called because my horse was having issues swallowing, the night before he had displayed the symptoms of a choke, and I wanted to make sure he was fine. This other vet came out, floated the horse's teeth (without telling me that's what she was doing or asking if that's what I wanted, because I would have declined if I had known), she said it was not choke, she insisted on blood work, and she wanted to scope (but ONLY if I paid for the $500 blood work)...I declined these bill-padding expenses, which brought the bill down from $1,600 to $866...Please keep in mind that NO answers were given, this vet said it was NOT a choke, and I was pressured to spend the other $800, and the issue was NOT resolved. Two days later, I got my horse into Dr. Neu, she diagnosed a choke (without having to scope him), and the bill was very reasonable! I wasted $866 because I dealt with a dishonest vet who hid charges until it was time to pay. My horse and I got NOTHING for that money. As angry as I am at the other vet, I am equally pleased with the service we got at Arctic Equine. I HIGHLY recommend using Dr. Neu if at all possible - your animals and your wallet will surely thank you!

Tug sends his fuzzy kisses for the help he received!

Dr. Wilson was great taking care of my old mare’s routine dental care. They have a great, clean facility. Their admin Deanna is super friendly and helpful as well. I appreciate that they have free after hours triage help. I haven’t needed it but glad it is available for me as an established client!

I could not be happier. We have an ailing rooster with a sizeable wound. Only time will tell if he will make it, but he got the care and medicine he needed to have a chance. We will definitely return with other chickens.

2023 update: We had another sick chicken and they are as great as ever here.
