We recently stayed at this lovely cottage located at AppleGarden Farm. We were there to celebrate my husband's belated birthday and our 37th anniversary. This year has been very hectic and stressful for us. I looked for a place where we can unwind, relax and explore beautiful natural surroundings. The cottage was so lovely, cozy, comfortable and was fully stocked with all the necessities as well surprising pleasures such as organic cream, butter, yogurt and hard apple cider which they produce on the farm. Breakfast every morning was delivered in a big basket with a delightful descriptive menu of the breakfast items (all organic) served that day. All freshly made and much of the ingredients provided from the farm itself. So, so yummy! Jan and Louis were so welcoming, kind, and unobtrusive. The perfect hosts! We were surrounded by nature, and an apple orchard that produces the most delicious apples which we were free to pick at our leisure. I highly recommend you check this location out. This was a charming cottage. My friend and I were having a much need 'friends' get away. We wanted to go along the coast and Point Reyes this location was perfect. The cottage was beyond my expectations, cozy, clean and had anything would need. There is the cutest highland cows in pasture next to cottage, so adorable to see them in the morning fog. And to top it off we had an organic breakfast delivered to us each morning... so yummy.

What a wonderful stay! Our accommodations were lovely and we really enjoyed the farm and our hosts. Each morning we were provided a nutritious and organic breakfast that could not be outdone by any 5 star restaurants. We loved meeting the dog, cat and the happy chickens. We stayed at the Apple Garden guest house...it is incredible! We arrived soaking wet, by bike, on a ride from St Helena to Tomales, and our host came out to greet us, turned on the heat and offered to dry our clothes, then brought down some delicious snacks, and recommended the very nearby restaurant (we walked) in town which was also perfect.
We returned to under a starry sky to the charming little guest house and sat by the fire before sleeping the best night’s sleep on the luxury bed.
In the morning I was up early and saw the sun rise over the farm, fog lingering in the valley, before she brought us the most scrumptious breakfast - homemade scones and granola.
As the one-time governor would say, “I’ll be back”!

We went to the farm for the tour and the owner was happy to show us around in the apple garden (which is wonderful) and to tell us how and where they produce hard cider (which was tasty!). It is a family business, run by a retired couple, and it feels very friendly and authentic. To register for the tour you need to call or email first. And there you can buy their cider, 9$ for a big bottle. Perfect for a quick stop on your trip through Marin county!
