They work directly with growers to implement their coating, ensuring consistent results and maximizing the benefits of extended shelf life.

I've been reducing spoilage of store bought pumpkins for years by rubbing soybean oil and a little lemon extract on the pumpkin. It is a very safe and affordable approach to reducing waste. Apeel's approach, which includes using enriched ingredients (mono- & diglycerides and citrate) also found in soybean oil and lemon to improve food shelf life, is reasonable and commendable. I hope to see some independent peer reviewed publications supporting their claims.

Anything that is unnatural and chemical based should not be put in or on food. If this company wanted to help feed the world, do it by putting money into the hands of local farmers who grow actual organic food or by by helping with water storage by creating lakes.

When we purchased Apeel avocados from our local Walmart; we waited longer for them to ripen. When they finally appeared ready to cut, it was like cutting into plastic fruit. The avocados were not edible in the slightest and yet they still “looked” ripe.

People stop supporting fake food, if the produce can sit on shelf longer then few days and still look like fresh produce, don’t consume it. It’s fake and on the long run it will harm you .

Thanks Bill, but one is interested in eating "organic" produce that can sit on the shelves for weeks without going bad. I cant wait to hear about how this is also slowly killing us in 5-10 years.

Can’t even buy fresh produce without people trying to poison me. Avoid every single food provider that uses this monstrosity of a creation. I hope everyone involved with the unholy malicious product enjoys burning eternally.
