I used to go here as a kid before the name change. I found what I needed with ease. It was just packed as usual. I love that I can get international food and seasoning. The produce is always fresh.

I’m NEVER shopping there again. And no one should support this garbage business. I called ahead about returning items, read the refund policy printed ON THE RECEIPT, and walked over an hour to the store only to be turned away by two very rude and unprofessional managers. They contradicted what was said on the phone, barely understood English. And they said I need to bring back defective items (with holes in it) to get my refund. Then when I called again, the same manager said I only have to bring back the empty boxes of products. And then, a minute later lied and contradicted himself again by saying some or “most of” the product should still be in the packaging for a refund. Why would I keep defective items that have holes or are frozen

"Warning: Avoid shopping at American Food Basket at all costs! The experience I had there was nothing short of appalling. From the moment I entered, a security guard—who didn’t even bother to learn basic English —began trailing me like I was a criminal. He followed me from aisle to aisle, clearly targeting me for no reason other than his own paranoia. His presence was so intrusive, he even stalked me all the way to the cashier. To make matters worse, he had the audacity to gossip about me in Spanish, assuming no one around understood.

If they have such a problem with people bringing reusable bags, perhaps they should offer free ones. But that’s not even the worst part. The customer service is an absolute nightmare, and it’s clear the staff, can barely communicate in English. The lack of professionalism and courtesy is beyond disgraceful. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place

I shop at America's food basket 2-3 times a week.. it's closer than other markets, the food is not bad, the prices are decent, but recently I bought a loaf of wheat bread for $ 3.99 two wks later I went back and bought the same bread it was now $5.29 shock me..I asked if that was the real price and just as I thought indeed it was..I know that prices are up everywhere and it's hurting people all over the country. I pray that it gets better. I enjoy shopping there..people are polite and friendly..great atmosphere.

12/10/2023 this location is slow service and a lot of ppl who work there are rude.they walk over and by customers in a way like ' move out my way' security 2 ..I waited in a line for 30 min untill it was my turn ..smh I recommend Shaw's or stop&shop... everyone speaks Haitian Creole but I think Spanish people run this market 🤦
