Today I spend some time with Bill and a friend making apple cider at Agricultural Hall. It was memorable. We brought about 60 lbs. of apples from a neighborhood tree and made four gallons of delicious cider. Bill was the perfect host: he dug out the apple cider mill, rinsed it, set it up and helped us throughout the process under the hail and snow of the late morning and early afternoon. We could not have done it without him and the apples would have gone to waste, as many in the city do. Thank you, ad infinitum, Bill!
