What a fabulous experience on this superb quality wine maker’s estate.

Randy (father) and Michael (son) display an amazing commitment to the art of wine making while promoting the bio diversity of the surroundings.

Lisa is taking care of the hospitality and sales side and her professionalism and knowledge was a welcome relief from some of the (over) commercialized wineries we have seen and if not the commercialization, some of the people have been a lot less in the business and lack the most important ingredient; passion. Lisa was brilliant.

They are exemplary hosts and Lisa our host during the visit has the ability to “read” the maturity of an audience and adapt the dialogue accordingly in an eloquent manner.

The visits was so well arranged, from the meet and we had an opportunity to see the owner Randy Dunn and the winemaker during the walk through the vineyards, vaulted cellars and enjoyed the explanation on the bio diversity commitment of the estate.

Our tasting consisted of:
Dunn vineyards, Howell Mountain Napa valley Retro syrah, Retro petit syrah and four vintages of their signature Cabernet Sauvignon.

My aim is not to judge these beautiful wines but to share my enthusiasm of this very special winery. As an illustration of our enjoyment, these wines will adorn our dining table at home and be part of the wines we will carefully age in a conditioned environment.

Dunn vineyards mainly produces Cabernet Sauvignon and a small quantity of Syrah and Petite Syrah, the latter two under the label “Retro”. Dunn vineyards certainly belongs and deserves to be recognized with the exclusive top wines of the Napa valley wine region and should be -if not already- on the wine lists of the finer restaurants on planet earth.

This wine is for wine lovers who appreciate the finer things in life and are willing and able to spend for fine elegant wines of sublime quality.

A big thanks to Lisa, Randy and Ted whom we had the pleasure meeting.

Can’t say enough good things about our experience at Dunn!

My girlfriend and I had an extremely informative tour with Lisa who gave a hands on view of the vineyards, winemaking equipment (shoutout Ted!), and caves before a great tasting of Retro Cellars label wines and a vertical of Dunn cabernets. All of the wine was outstanding as expected and Lisa gave us tips to help experience the wines optimally.

Finally we were able to meet and chat with both Randy and Mike Dunn which was really insightful and a pleasure- great people!

We spent 2.5 hours at the vineyard and easily could’ve spent double that there, we can’t wait to be back!

Dunn Vineyards will not come up on Google Maps but they do show on Apple Maps.
Why the problem…I do not know!!
If you put in their address 805 White Cottage road, then you will get the directions.
I am surprised that Google has not yet remedied this flaw.

My fiancee and I visited Dunn Vineyards for a tasting on 7/8/22. The tasting was hosted by Dunn wine representative Lisa C. Lisa provided a very detailed, intimate wine tasting experience on a beautiful setting on Howell mountain which is different and arguably more picturesque than other parts of Napa. Lisa provided cheeses to try as well as fresh figs from the garden. The Cabernet wine from Dunn Vineyards is the best we have ever tasted. Additionally, the vineyard is boutique and family owned. Meaning the vineyard lacks the corporate feel which is a good thing. I would rate this vineyard highly for anyone who appreciates exquisite wine in a unique countryside setting. Sincerely - Josh

My boyfriend and I came to Dunn after listening to Mike Dunn on a podcast episode while driving the 45 hours from Washington DC to Napa Valley. After we listened we KNEW that we had to add Dunn to our list of 'Must See' wineries during our seven week stay in Napa. This was just reinforced by some of our friends in the valley who know the family as well. This just heightened our interest and set the bar higher.

When we arrived we knew a little of what to expect from listening to the story of the family and how the winery came to be, but our visit with Mike Dunn ended being way more impactful than we could have ever imagined.

As aspiring wine makers we spoke with him on many topics ranging from growing grapes to fermentation and all the way to bottling. He walked us through everything he does and it resembled closely what we would want in our future wine ventures. We became fast friends and bonded over life and common interests quickly.

Although we don't usually age our wines too long before drinking, I think we are going to lay these down and be patient because we KNOW it will be worth the wait!

Overall, we cannot say enough great things about the wine and our experience there. A must see if you are looking something off the beaten path with great wines in a relatable environment. We would give 5 stars over and over if we could!

I saved one bottle of Dunn 1987 that I opened and shared with my wife Carole ,few days ago. My patience was rewarded by a mature wine, ready to be enjoyed. The tannins from the grapes and from the French oak were very well integrated and melting in my mouth , the structure and the body of the wine were still very much in place, supporting the spices, the pruny accents. Great depth and lengh in the nose.
The winemaking was superb showing an exceptional vision.

Thank you.

Had dinner with 3 friends where I opened a magnum of the 2000 Cabernet. It was exquisite. Fruit forward, soft tannins. This wine aged graciously. Total joy
