I love this store! Yolanda is friendly and knowledgable; the whole aesthetic of the open, indoor-outdoor space is inspiring. She has everything for urban farming, and more. I didn't realize my hens needed special care when molting (I knew they needed calcium, but nothing more than that). I learn something every time I go. Am looking forward to attending a workshop on fermenting in late Nov.

Yolanda is the best! Not only was she super helpful in explaining to two new chicken enthusiasts how to choose, raise and care for chickens, but while away on vacation she chicken-sat our chickens! She has a wonderful coop and run set up for our ladies and even saved our eggs for us when we came home! I highly recommend Pollinate Farm and Garden if you need some gardening, backyard chicken, or even beekeeping help/advice and much more!

Pollinate Farm is clean, well-stocked, organized and helpful. I first went there when I had decided to start raising chickens. I found their chicks to be healthy and well-cared for. The advice I received in the beginning was invaluable. They don't follow me around when I'm there, but they are sharp, knowledgable and patient when I do ask questions.
They carry many tools and supplies for urban farming and green gardening (and, of course, raising chickens), including resource books.

Absolutely wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The owner is extremely friendly, the staff is knowledgeable, and they selection--while small--is well curated. They carry the two best chicken feeds (Modesto Milling and Scratch & Peck) and have all the canning supplies you could ever need.

Love everything about this store, it's products (all carefully selected for how they work not what's trending!), and it's owners. They have the only organic feed my chickens will eat, great, great workshops, books (I still prefer a book in the barn to an ipad), bee keeping to chickens to veggies and everything in between love it! One last thing... not all chickens are created equal. Both Jolanda and Birgitte can help you decide which chicken is best for you.

I bought 6 chicks from them, after 2 days, one chick already died, and after 5 days another same type chick doesn't doing well either. I had chick before it's never happened, I know how to take care of them. It's really expensive chicks,($8/each, concord feed only $3/each) but they gave me the chicks obvious something wrong. I called them they think it's all my fault, didn't even make any effort to compensate. I'm really upset not just about the money and time.
Next year I'll definitely buy chicks from Concord Feed.

Amazing fixture in the neighborhood. There's workshops for beekeeping, chickens, gardening, composting, a fertilizer bar, plants, tools and knowledgeable friendly people. There is also a resident cat named lion who is the chillest. 10 thumbs up.

I get my chicken feed here. Yolanda is always friendly and greets me by name. Great to have a store like this in Oakland!
